I agree Scott is a great player, but come on.... Over the other 7 I had on the list? We are already deep enough at OLB

Nobody else in class like Scott. He will play Key's position.

PlanB when they lost A. Anderson.

Scott is one of my favorite players in this class - the classic athletic freak that needs college coaching and that blows up somewhere in year two or three . Do people even watch film or do they just go straight to rankings, because we have a great player in Scott . And Washington is just a straight football player . That kid has serious talent and understands the game, his measurables just aren’t as sexy. But put him on the field and he’s as good as anybody out there.

Back to who we sign, I think. Joiner has to be on that list . We have to have another physical SEC- style rb no matter what .Give me Marshall and any other wr - or athlete . After that take the best available defaulting with HS programs you want to keep recruiting at and solid kids who won’t bail when they end up third on the depth chart. We have to avoid attrition with this class. And we really need some juniors to stay.

Surtain
Marshall
Joseph
Joiner
And whomever else

My comment was in response to who you would drop from our current commits, not about who you're adding. Scott is pretty far down the list for me. And there's probably one guy on your list I would take him over.

Do we? Sure looked like we didn't get a lot of production out of our buck linebacker spot beyond Key and Chaisson. Not to mention, he's versatile AF, so he could possibly be moved around, even to offense, in order to get him on the field.

JUCO transfers don't count against the number, IIRC.

I believe it depends on whether they went juco straight from high school (like our three guys) or if they went to juco after enrolling at a 4 year college first (like Willie Allen, Savion Smith, etc).

I'm pretty sure our three guys will count against the 25.

Surtain
Marshall
Cook
Joseph

25 spots is a hard number and everyone counts including JUCO players. If you sign a “grade risk” player and he doesn’t make it, too bad. There is no more counting back to the previous class either. Unless someone presently committed backs out or we cut then loose we have 5 more to give, period.

Pat Surtain Jr. - CB
Terrace Marshall - WR
Anthony Cook - CB
Kelvin Joseph - S/CB
James Foster - QB

This! Plus I'd add Joiner because I think we're gonna let Washington walk. We can make someone a nickleback. Don't need him

Joiner, Marshall, Surtain are in. Not sure of the final two but I’ll say Cook looks good at the moment. There is a possibility one or two current commitments “change their mind”

You're retarded. Who TF else would you play before those two, especially if that position is for Pass Rushing specialties. C'mon man, know your Football. Next year, there's Thornton, Chaisson, hopefully Sci Martin and Andre Anthony and if Travez Moore makes grades, add him too. I think we'll be okay. Also, did you forget who the DC was? Dude isn't too bad now is he?

Joseph is a strong possibility. There is a need for CBs. I think Jackson and Toliver are gone. Fulton’s future is uncertain.

I’m not hearing anything good about QBs. I’m not saying we’re not, I’m just saying I’m not hearing anything positive.

Wow. Such vitriol. You can GFY with that shite.

Obviously Key and Chaission were our top two guys, but when Key was hurt/limited, who stepped up behind Chaisson? Thornton played well in spots but I would hardly say he should be a lock for the two deep next year.

What exactly have you seen from Martin and Anthony that makes you think they'll be reliable contributors? They've both been injured/ineligible/suspended since they got to campus. I think they're talented, but they're complete unknowns at this point.

So, because we have one proven guy, one semi-proven guy, and two totally unproven guys, we should stop recruiting that position? Also, keep in mind the fact that Aranda really wants to be able to put two of these guys on the field in obvious passing situations.

I think O has positioned LSU purposely like this knowing he would have the upper hand when it comes to signing early.

Those who don't follow through, might just be replaced by someone better and who wants to be a Tiger. I say make the numbers work, at the end, if you're full but can't pass up a certain recruit. Offer gray shirts, or if they having trouble with grades, convince them to go JUCO.

By that time you may only have a few you need to process, if any. If a kid is good enough, he won't have a thing to worry about so how could processing a few after signing period really hurt Orgeron. His argument would be, either sign early or be good enough that we can't replace you.

If you're truly committed, you'll sign in Dec. if not, how committed are you. That could be his argument to the parents. If the kid is playing us, of course we replaced him. Your son signs early and has his spot, if not then either don't commit or commit. Now early commits can be taken literally. If not then we consider you a decommit after the early signing period. LSU has to fill these spots and this guy passed on us the first time, so we started recruiting his spot once again. Reasonable IMO.
