Kitchen gadget you bought thinking you'd use occasionally, but ended up using all the time

Mine is a garlic press. Call me lazy, but mincing by hand seemed like a hassle so I used to buy the pre-minced garlic in jars all the time. Wife got me one of these a few weeks ago and I use it all the time now - haven't used pre-minced garlic once since. The fresh garlic makes all the difference (and smells so much better when cooking too).

What's your tool/gadget?

This Electric wine opener is the bomb. It will remove air too to keep your wine and bubbly fresh

I prefer wine keys. Much easier imo.

I don't really have many gadgets I use though. I use the anova often.

Yeah, but the winged corkscrew is also great for opening bottles of beer without damaging the cap. Wine keys have the bottle opener, but it bends the shite out of them.

Cheese slicer. Mine is similar to this one, but the "spatula" part of it is squared off and has little teeth on the end as well.

I had one of those big 4 sided graters, and one side had a slicer on it that I used to use all the time. But it was curved. I end up grabbing this little hand held slicer most of the time. Except for the largest blocks of cheese, it is wide enough to make quick consistent cuts. The best thing is I didn't buy it. It was in a box of kitchen stuff I brought home from my grandparents house after cleaning it out. So it is something they used for years and is pretty stout. I would have never bought one or even thought about it.

Yeah after mincing seven or eight cloves of garlic by hand and being an idiot in the kitchen, I should really get a garlic press.

I didn't think I would use Joule nearly as much as I do, which is now 3-4x a week.

Not a gadget but a cast iron skillet. I didn't think I needed one until I got it. Now I probably use it more than anything else in the kitchen

I used to be a one trick pony in the kitchen. I only needed a Dutch oven.

We have a cast iron skillet and dutch oven that don't even have places in the cabinets, they just stay on the stove until we need them again, which is usually the next day.

Pizza stone. Never saw the need it but now use it all the time, and not just for pizza. It stays in the oven.

Do it. It makes the whole process so much easier. Just crush it, peel off the outer skin, and press it. Cuts down the process immensely. Plus a good press is only in the $10-15 range.
