The guys on the Knoxville sports radio broadcast just said that they've heard a rumor that UT and Schiano had a contract in place two weeks ago, and UT backed out of the contract today due to the protests. Here's the crazy part: if this rumor is true, UT owes Schiano a $20 million buyout!

You've got to think that for $20 million they would batten down the hatches and hope all this eventually blows over.

That would be hilarious, and given Currie's incompetence, it seems to make sense.

here's the crazy part...Butch was still the coach of Tennessee 2 weeks ago. Having a verbal agreement is not a contract. I HIGHLY doubt any contract was signed.

Sounds about right considering how things have been going in Knoxville.

Yeah, Unless both the President of the University and the Chancellor both signed that contract, not a fricking chance. 20 Million buyout, surely you don't buy this shite

Even if that figure is true, I'm sure there is a moral turpitude clause in the contract. Maybe the Tennessee lawyers can use it to negotiate the buy out down.
