What is the likelihood Texas will become Blue by 2024

My prediction is that Texas will be Blue closer to 2032.
But is the illegal immigration really that bad? I've only ever visited Galveston and Dallas
Let me add that I realize many of you live in Texas and I understand that it has a strong conservative base. I don't think the base will change per se.
The issue will be if too many immigrants migrate.

The wall will be built by then.

You do realize that there are other ways immigrants get in besides the border.
Not being a smart alek.
I don't care if the wall is built, but be aware that most cases of II are legals who overstayed their visa.
ICE is doing their best, I commend them. But its a stack of cards once them DEM get their act together.

The wall won’t stop Texas from going blue.

That will not happen in your lifetime.

Zero... The illegals will be offset by everyone moving here from other states pissed that their taxes are too high everywhere else.

I'm in my 20s
So if this doesn't happen 2060, then either the demographics are too strongly cemented or enough gerrymandering has occurred to keep the electorate solidly red.

It won't stop illegal immigration but it will greatly slow it down. Add in Trump allowing ICE to do their job and you'll see the stream of illegals going down to a tiny fraction of what it is today. The ones there now can move to California if they want to stay in the country.

I agree with talking a strong stance against II
My only problem is that I don't think Trump does enough to punish the businesses perpetuating this behavior.
I get that II do jobs that middle class don't want. But its unrealistic that we can't get Americans to do those jobs at $8 to $12 an hour.

Legal immigration plus the minority kids who get old enough to vote will make Texas blue. Illegal immigrants is not what going to turn Texas.

0% chance.
You do not have a clear picture of what’s going on. Let me help shed some light:
From Pew Research:
If half settle in Texas (which is a high estimate), that’s 20k. About 40% of Hispanics are registered to vote. So we’re down to 12k. And about 40% vote Republican. So we’re down to 7.2k. And only about 50% of registered voters vote.
So now we’re down to 3.6k votes per year.

From Pew Research:

Mexicans made up 49% of unauthorized immigrants in 2014 (including some who arrived decades ago), but according to the report, they account for only about 9% of foreigners (or 42,000 people) who arrived by air and sea, overstayed and had not left by the end of fiscal 2015. Canadians, meanwhile, account for about 1% of unauthorized immigrants in Pew Research Center’s latest estimate for 2012, but 19% of overstayers who had not departed by the end of fiscal 2015, or 93,000 people.

It's gonna be all the California liberals moving in to work that will turn Texas blue.

Texas will switch from a "winner take all" to a "proportional distribution " rule for electorial votes before the blue take over happens.

The problem is businesses like tomato farmers.
I know several smaller growers in central Alabama, keep in mind, these guys still have over a million plants each that produce tomatoes multiple times a year.
When Alabama locked down on illegals they had to scramble to find workers. Some of them pooled resources and bussed dozens of inner city guys looking for jobs up to pick tomatoes.
For every box of tomatoes picked, a worker is paid $2. Illegals averaged $150-$200 per day.
The inner city guys over the course of 2 weeks averaged $12 per day.

With Generation Z coming up and being able to vote California will go red before Texas goes blue. I doubt we will see that for many years though.

Whenever it does the country is over. Hopefully I will be dead by then.

Why would this be an issue in any state if there is a huge illegal immigration population?? They shouldn't be allowed to vote anyway unless there is massive voter fraud..

The wall will be built, some of the illegal immigrants will be deported, voter ID laws will be ruled constitutional by the SCOTUS and the dems voter fraud racket will cease. There is a greater chance that Cali is red before Texas is blue.

Once Texas turns blue it’s time to find a new country to live in
