Had to start saving up for that new coach. Makes sense to keep Bert from the post game meal.

Your Link updated the story that this was false.......Its the first thing you read when you open the link.

quote:

Update: Interim AD Julie Cromer said she spoke with Bret Bielema in his office to inform him of his firing.

CBB confirmed this yesterday.

The six million dollar(?) buyout will soothe his pain I'd imagine.

Didn’t get fired on field. Got fired in his office before going to the locker room so he could tell his players in person before they all left to be with their families the rest of the weekend.

Well, we all know Alleva could never muster up the chest to pull that off. Ever.

I don't see what the big deal is. It's not like they did it on the sidelines. It gives him the opportunity to address his players, and for those that are upset about the decision to be with family for a few days.

Plus he didn't have to spend a sleepless night wondering about his fate only to come in the next day and get canned. They just ripped the band aid off. Now everyone can move on.

Once Long was fired, the clock was literally ticking in Brett's ear. They could have handled it better, but recall that Arkansas hired Petrino.

Ergo, they have no class to lose.

ETA: And they have a chick AD now? Wow.

Absolutely disgusting move by Arky. Poor judgment here points to a poor hire.

Not ruthless at all.
He was fired where his failures culminated.
