I really like Strawgator. Is there a reason that I have never heard this board praise it?

Are all Abita beers beneath this board?

Best beer from Abita for me. Especially @$4.99 for the big one!

Strawgator is okay. Love me some Andygator. No shame in my game.

I agree, strawgator is probably my favorite abita beer atm.

Abita has a ton of good brews. Their Bourbon St. BBA Series is really underrated. I could drink that coffee variant any day of the year.
The Boot is a really fine Kolsch that is Louisiana only distributed and the perfect Mardi Gras beer.
The Macchiato Espresso Stout is a bargain beer at $3.99 a bomber and tastes great.
We do an Abita tour most Friday’s for New Orleans tourists due to the demand of the consumer. I’m not certain people know how big they are. They brew 150k barrels a year with state of the art equipment which is 10 times bigger than any other Louisiana brewery (Parish is the 2nd highest, and they’re on pace for 15k barrels for 2017).

I'm not a big fan but I don't like Andygator. However, I agree the Boot is very crushable in hot months. Macchiato is also good, especially for the price compared to similar bombers.

Most local breweries are putting out better products....
Can't think of one beer abita puts out that I find better or on par with many other options on the shelf.

Andygater is my favorite from Abita, their Amber is ok. I can drink one strawgator when I finish work outside or come in from the beach... but can't handle more than one before I have to change to regular beer or something with bourbon or vodka.

Why do you keep saying local options like Abita isn't a local brewery?
Posted on 11/25/17 at 10:04 am to LakeViewLSU
Abita was the shite 10-15 years ago when there weren't really other local options. Everybody has left them in the dust these days.
I do like Strawgator, Macchiato, and Pecan though.

This.
I used to drink quite a bit of Abita, and I'd still vastly prefer open an ice chest and find Abita over BMC, but I don't see myself picking any Abita offerings over what I can find available with zero effort on a regular basis.

For the price point I will pick up a new abita to try out if I don't plan on trying it on tap somewhere

Andygator is already a sweet lager. Once they add the fake strawberry flavor it becomes too much for my preferences.

My 2nd favorite Abita, after Purple Haze.

It's just too sweet.

Yes. Abita sucks if you live in NOLA and the region. They are more about distro. No way in hell I have their beer in my fridge.

So they can produce large amounts of meh. Strawgator is way too sweet.
