Seems like so many cars now run 2.0L turbos. The HP is decent, but I still feel getting ripped off. I know its due to the EPA cafe regs.

Went and looked at some Audi's.

Audi A5. $52K 2.0T. 250ish hp.
Audi Q7 $50K+ 2.0T

Mercedes E300 2.0T $50K+

Not $50K, but $25-30K Honda Accords with a 1.5L turbo. $30K+ for 2.0T.

Porsche Cayman 2.0T 300hp $60K.

At least the Toyota Camry offers a 3.5L V6, 301hp and still getting a respectable 27/33mpg.

At least throw in a 2.5L turbo if they're wanting $50K+.

Audis/Porsches are ripoffs I've been shopping and doing my research in this range too. I think I've settled on a 440i Grand Coupe. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Cadillac ATS has the most powerful 2.0T 272hp, 320 with a chip. I think it's the same as the camaro. Run sub 13 in the quarter

I have a Mercedes with a turbo 4. Gets phenomenal gas mileage but pisses me off every time I go to pass someone and get a two second turbo lag. Would not get anything less than a six for my next car.

You would do much better with a new Mustang with a 5.0L V8 with 435HP.
It will be more fun than every car you listed.
Though I will say the gas mileage is not great...

Depends on priority and don't see how the flat 4 turbo Porsche could possibly be a ripoff by any stretch. Owned two Audi's, a BMW, and a Porsche in "recent" years. The 440i is a stupid-great sport sedan but if the priority is to derive a world-class sports car, IMO it just takes a quick test drive to walk away feeling like the Cayman/Boxster format is actually a bargain and in a class all alone. ...I'd bet more reliable in the long run as well. Having said that, I ended up selling my 2-seat Porsche because of the hassle of still needing 2 cars (non-driving kids still at home) Mine was also year before (6pot) introduction of the current GTS flat four. The 440i is a different genre, the M2 would be the equal and looks impressive, too. The 440i BMW is more practical but the flat four 365hp turbo Porsches (esp. w/7speed PDK) are a true marvels of engineering worthy of supercar status when it comes to driver experience and in a class by themselves.

The last thing I'd mention was the difference in resale experience. The Porsche held it's value so well that my total cost to own for 2 1/2 years amounted to about $130 a month. Granted I didn't own it as long as the Audi but in 31 months the Porsche required nothing but scheduled general maintenance (optional)...not a single peep...not so of the Audi or BMW.

Subaru Forrester has a small turbo.

But honestly, just get a truck. Resale value on small 4cyl is terrible.

Yeah, but the 2018 Camry is the ugliest sedan you can buy.
