I was just kidding!
I have so much to be Thankful for, it's almost funny. Most especially a wonderful wife, two great sons and so much more. Heck even my Wildcats had a great football season so there is that.
And I am thankful for this boards and for the people I consider friends on it, even though we may disagree.
God bless everyone, and have a great Thanksgiving!

I know that many people from all sides of the political aisle will agree with there certainly can be a "pause" in Thanksgiving for a period of time until we make America more socially just.
Not much to "Thankful" for if you're Black, Transgender pre-operative and living in the ghetto (for example) like my friend Mark (Maria).
You must be a riot at parties and family get togethers.

What holiday do you miss celebrating that they have taken away?

I figured this thread would be more about thanksgiving being swallowed up by the expanding Christmas seadon.

Living in Africa, I agree. Living in America should be all about if their roots mean so much to them.
Also, I love how people like you think poorness only affects one race.

For Crissake, Thanksgiving will continue. For one think there’s money in it for a lot of businesses. This board has always produced Chicken Littles.

Idk man. Thanksgiving really reinforces traditional gender roles, with women slaving away in the kitchen cooking while men sit around and watch sports.
Plus, it’s really insensitive to those people without families to celebrate with.
And don’t even get me started on how it makes Native Americans feel.
Really disgusting, we should be better :(

It's very difficult to remove a Holiday because of the Postal Workers Union.

I saw this meme yesterday from one of my SJW FB friends. Anybody wanna tell me how many wrong things there are in the text?

Yep. It's all true. The cowboys ate the Native American babies too

Our country and laws were set up for equality under the law, not socially accepted norms as metrics for equality.

Until they find out that the first Thanksgiving proclamation in the states was by Confederate President Jefferson Davis, two years before Abraham Lincoln did it.
