God what a disaster that would be. O runs off the first OC he has in a year?

Already happened. He fired his OC after his first year at OM. So this would not be an anomaly for Orgeron, or Canada.

Did you not read that we are currently leading on a number of top prospects. Did you not read or remember that last season we got a lot of solid and unexpected commits in the final days. If I tell you we have the #4 class for 2019 you will say "but that's so far away and we don't know how it will end", but you consider this year's class a done deal and we won't finish strong? Auburn currently 14, Clemson 18, Alabama 22.

No excuses. Just fact.

Can you imagine the spin being conjured up to explain away that happening?

Of course. We see it here from the O haters after every win.

This. 5 pages to discuss something that will not happen. The way people here dismiss the amount of money LSU would owe to fire him, and the life-changing amount of money he’d give up by leaving, is ridiculous. Contracts mean something. Unless he’s caught molesting Narcisse or something, Canada is going nowhere.

This offense loses practically all its skill players and then we have to go with our fourth OC in four years?

Technically it would be the 4th OC in under 3 years.

2016: Cameron/Ensminger
2017: Canada
2018: ???

It is amazing this narrative keeps getting repeated...

Forget the fact he was at Northern Illinois from 98-03 and Indiana from 04 -10 but hey lets only look at some of the jobs so it proves our points of him not staying anywhere.

Tabasco is the best in my book. I like to lay a drop (or two) right on my fried egg, then watch as it melts into the yolk. Yummy! Just enough to vet my vhissle. But I usually go all out on my seafood gumbeaux, enough to get me sniffing.

All in all Tabasco is my favorite.

Oh by the way.....

Almost every time he moved it was a promotion so who in their right mind wouldn't want more money or a better position?

but one has to wonder why the places where he was did not work harder ($$$) to keep him ....????

no one knows all the facts, but it is peculiar.

I do not think he is leaving LSU, at least not until next year's end at the earliest

If he isn’t happy here, he will look at other jobs. Period.

It’s not like he would leave to make nothing. Few schools could or would match what we are paying him, true. But he would still be in the very high six figures approaching seven figures at many other jobs where his oddball persona would mesh better than it appears it has with O.

Not to mention Florida, Alabama, UT, and A&M are all definitely places that could pay him as much or more than we do.

I think Saban in particular would be thrilled to get his hands on him to work with Hurts in that system for two years. Plus it’s a shot at us too so double bonus points.

All the Oflakes saying he isn’t going anywhere are the same ones that act like he called the best game in CFB history against Alabama and that LSU had NEVER been so competitive against them.

If you don’t think the new SEC coaches aren’t going to take interest in a guy that seemed to find some cracks and had big play opportunities against Saban then you are being dishonest with yourself.

Either about him not having any other opportunities to jump at or how good LSU actually looked against Alabama this year

Seems to be quite a few excuses for Canada's offense which ranks #80 nationally in points per game.

Come on. I still have high hopes for his offense, but there is no way he has had enough success this season for anyone to poach him for what we are paying. Plus there is this thing he signed called a contract - you think Saban or anyone is gonna pay LSU a buyout then make him basically the highest paid offensive coordinator in football? Keep dreaming.

That's not quite giving the pertinent info though.

1994-1996 Indiana (GA)
1997 Butler (OC/QB)
1998–2000 Northern Illinois (RB)
2001–2002 Northern Illinois (QB)
2003 Northern Illinois (OC/QB)
2004 Indiana (QB)
2005–2006 Indiana (QB/PGC)
2007–2010 Indiana (OC/QB)
2011 Northern Illinois (OC/QB)
2012 Wisconsin (OC/QB)
2013–2015 NC State (OC/QB)
2016 Pitt (OC/QB)
2017–present LSU (OC/QB)

He did have a long stint as a coach on staff at Northern Illinois and Indiana, but the first was as he rose from RB coach to QB coach to OC. Then back to the better job at Indiana where he did the same thing...there, he was the OC for three season and THEN moved to the better gig at Wisky for one season. Then to NC State for three seasons and PITT for one. That one year gig enabled him to land the LSU job.

From the looks of it, it's not that he's flighty, it's that he's a really good OC who is in high demand and moves from job to job as he thinks it benefits his career goals. He's moved very regularly since he's become an OC at the Power 5 level...assuming his stint at LSU will be different is merely an assumption. My guess is that from this stop it's either an NFL OC job of a mid-major HC position. But anyone thinking Canada is going to be here in 2020 or something is dreaming.

Technically no. Cameron was let go by Orgeron the day he was hired to be interim coach so he was never OC under Orgeron.
