What are the board's thoughts on Mr. Brooks?

Besides the terrible acting by Demi Moore I've always enjoyed this one.

It’s a pretty good flick that is grossly hampered by that Demi Moore subplot. God that sucked.
By far my favorite part was the whole daughter at college subplot. He realizes she “has it” too and has to go do the copycat kill to get the pressure off of her. Love it

I came across it by accident on antenna television really late at night quite a while ago now. I remember being surprised by how good I thought that it was. I should probably rewatch it at this point because the details are kind of fuzzy.

Big fan of Kevin Costner. Dane Cook getting whacked was awesome. The basement setup seemed a little too far fetched.

Remove Demi Moore and her story entirely and it’s a solid movie.

Really underrated movie. Always watch it when I come across it. The Demi Moore subplot was strange. Always made me wonder if there was a connection there with Brooks.
It was supposed to be the first movie of a trilogy but the other two never happened obviously.

her "issues" (the guy trying to kill her and the scumbag ex husband) allow brooks access into her private life while she's trying to catch him. Moore was terrible but the story was good

They shot it in Shreveport. His office is in the convention center, and the building outside his window is the back of the federal courthouse. Of all the movies shot here, this one may have the most recognizable locations in it.
I watched them film a scene that takes about 3 seconds in the movie. They set up and did it over and over and over. It did not seem like a fun way to make a living.

One of my favorite under the radar movies

Really love it. Somewhat surpsing given the cast. It's an enjoyable guilty pleasure when nothing else is on

I remember so much about this movie. I completely forgot Demi Moore was even in it, that's how much her performance improved it.

That’s how it is brotha. Imagine being the editor for Mad Max Fury Road. 500 hours of footage to edit into a 2hr movie

I thought "Mr. Brooks" was a very good movie. I liked Kevin Costner going against type and playing a psychopathic killer. I thought the scene where he murdered the poor couple who were having sex when he walked in on them was the most chilling. The look of shock and shear terror on their faces was memorable.
I liked the scene where he murders the guy in the graveyard.

I liked the Demi Moore role just not her in it. As much as I hate Dane Cook he actually nailed his part, and Costner reminded me why he used to be so likeable. It was an excellent movie and yes the daughter twist was great, actually didn't see it coming. The banter between Costner and Hurt was great
