This seems like a bad idea. But honestly with Bradley Manning I thought they were already allowing mental people in.

Facing low recruitment levels, the U.S. Army quietly lifted its ban on allowing people with a history of mental illness, self-mutilation and drug abuse to serve in the military – despite warnings from the industry about the risks involved.

That's scary to think someone could smoke a joint and go join the military

Drug abuse I can see, people experiment and move on. Mental illness, I can see where that would be a problem.

And how shitty are the optics on this considering how bad the Air Force fricked up with that church shooter?

They have to do stuff like that whenever nobody really wants to join the military because it sucks. The last few times anyone's been sent anywhere were for somebody's financial gain and had nothing to do with saving anyone or helping America defend its freedom at all.

What organization or business wouldn't want more drug abusers and mentally ill applicants? What could go wrong?

Sounds like we're prepping for a war.
Sorry not sorry North Korea.

There’s plenty out there that experimented a little bit then moved on. They aren’t all addicts.

I bent over backwards trying to re enlist and got pushed out bc of the previous administration. now theyre so desperate theyre letting emo lunatics in and the VA pays me half of my previous wage every month. This country is so fricking stupid.
actually i make more than my previous wage i just dont get housing or food allowance. makes it even better " lets get rid of these guys and pay them more than they used to make"

I don’t think it’s necessarily because the military sucks. More so the World is full of snowflakes now.

You seem to have missed the point. I wouldn't go ever. I wanted to go out of high school and someone talked me out of it and I'm very very glad they did. Otherwise I would have just been sent out to some foreign land to do something that help someone else financially and doesn't mean s*** for me except for possibly losing a limb or dying

The "have you ever smoked marijuana" portion was just an mental capacity/illness check. Saying yes rather than no means you are missing a few brain cells.
They give you one more chance during the "moment of truth" to prove expose yourself as an idiot.

Justify being a little bitch however you need, that caveat only makes you seem like a pussy, doesn’t actually explain anything

I can get behind it if by mental illness they mean people who toon riddling when they were in JR High because their parents were lazy and drug users to an extent. Letting in self-mutilating people seems retarded.
