re: Where does the New Orleans Saints' defensive turnaround rank in terms of being unexpected?

I get you're trolling but do a little more research. The blown call would've cut the Saints lead, not given the bears the win. Unless the narrow eagles wins over powerhouses like San Diego and the NYG impress you.

Eagles opponents: .386
Saints opponents: .600

Tbt we Had the saints as a super bowl dark horse before the season started. Thought they had a decent shot. With the emergence of other teams we thought they had a better chance before the season started than they do today. other teams are just looking better than the saints do.

THey sure did shut out your dolphins

saints haven’t really beaten a good squad. They damn near lost to a rookie truabiksy if it wasn’t for a blown call on the td to Miller. Caught Winston hurt badly. Caught Stafford banged up bad bad. Hundley was QB for Green Bay. Etc etc. They have gotten Extremely fortunate and lucky. Which if you remember happened in the super bowl year too. They faced garbage qb after garbage qb.
Eagles have beaten Carolina and Washington.
Vikings have beaten new Orleans and Washington.
Saints have beaten Carolina and Buffalo.
Rams have beaten Dallas and Jacksonville.
None of them have beaten much.

The dolphins hadn’t slept in their own beds in a month. From being evacuated for the hurricane to playing all over the country etc etc. Another very very luck break for the saints. And I haven’t pulled for the phins in a decade anyways.

Ok so what’s the issue with having the saints fourth then? We think when you see the power rankings coming out that fourth is where most of the unbiased like me I? might add rankings have them.

Brady, Warner, Favre, Manning. A bunch of scrubs I tell you.
The NFL isn't college. There are no guaranteed wins. Hence, any given Sunday.

Now this is good stuff right here. He's right though. Those 3 QBs we faced in the playoffs were sooooo shitty

In the postseason, they faced Kurt Warner, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning.
In the regular season, they faced Brady, McNabb, Eli, Romo and Ryan twice. That's all I can remember right now.

we didn't play McNabb but you are right about the others. Plus quarterbacks like Marc Bulger and Jake Delhomme who had long careers.

Like I said. I'm fine with putting them 4th. But the argument to put rams above saints can be used the same way.
I can say Minnesota beat New Orleans, so they automatically get the benefit. Philly because they have 1 more win. But LA rams, eh.
Losses to Seattle and Washington. Wins vs Indy, San Fran, Jacksonville, NY giants, Dallas, Houston, and Arizona. Close wins to San Fran as well.
The two losses were to worse teams than the Saints too.
Saints beat Miami, Carolina, Chicago, green bay, Buffalo, Tampa Bay, and Detroit. Losses to Minnesota at full and new England coming off an extra 4 days.
Losses to good teams, wins vs similar level trash.

That Texans record is upsetting you, isn’t it

Eye test puts rams and eagles over saints.
And vikes have beat them soundly already. So 4th it is.
