Wow Mississippi State moved up, when’s the last time a team that lost actually moved up in the rankings?

I'm not convinced the committee is going to have Auburn leapfrog UGA, but we'll see. They're not as sensitive to when you lose as the polls are.

How do we win this week and drop a place in the rankings

It's a joke. I said that Wisconsin shouldn't have jumped Oklahoma on the rant, and I'm getting all kinds of downvotes

Has anybody jumped from #7 to #2 before now?
That's quite a leapfrog. The power of Notre Dame.
I guess we are all supposed to forget about all of Miami's close games against so-so competition.

Also, I'm not sure why, but Penn State is loved by the computers. They're 3rd in Sagarin and like 8th in a composite using the BCS computers.

LSU in the last week in 2007.

My best guess is because the computers now use margin of victory again in their formulas. PSU has a number of blowout wins & 2 very close losses.

But no good wins, and they were ahead of Ohio State in the computers until this week.

Georgia should be ahead of Auburn.

Most of the computers factor the home/away team into their formula. Sagarin uses the standard 3 pts for the home team. Penn St only loss by 1 to Ohio State in Columbus.

They always did. Some of them had a second calculation just for the BCS, and it was the BCS version that excluded margin of victory. The real versions didn't get any attention in the BCS era because they were meaningless.

more like the power of the zero on the right-hand side of their schedule
