So dumb. Why were the police even asking questions regarding the nature of their relationship? That's just a senior and a sophomore. Not really a big deal. I could see the police getting involved if the girls parents called them.

The law probably needs to be changed.

This should not be a legal issue.

They may have seen something which would indicate that the two had been having sex. They probably then contacted the girl's parents who wished to press charges. It's just a misdemeanor because its less than 4 years age difference so it's not that huge of a deal. Wouldn't you want police to call you if they found your 15 year old daughter having sex with someone?

So you're suggesting they were having sex in the car while it was broken down on the side of the road? He called the police for help. After he called for help me thought he'd get a quickie in before the police showed up?

What exactly would they have seen that would indicate they had sex in the past? You think they read his diary or something?

I'm just not buying what you're selling. Sorry.

Um, maybe condoms on the floorboard. Maybe it was really late and upon seeing the girl they could tell she was young and shouldn't be out at that time. Who knows, but I doubt they just saw the girl with him and immediately started asking if the two had sex. Use some common sense and don't be so dense because its some kid who may be good at football.

My input:

Your response:

I'm not being dense and I could give a frick if that dude can play football. I just think it's insanely dumb that it's a crime for two high school kids to have sex.

I

Why are you so hostile?

quote:

that the two had been having sex

I took that to mean they had been having sex in the car. Is that not what you meant? You said yourself maybe they found condoms.

Anyway, it's dumb to argue about hypotheticals where we don't even know the details. I think the law is dumb and I think unless they were having sex in the car, the police shouldn't have been questioning the extent of their relationship.

People are naive. There’s lots of reasons you look and ask. Trafficking, prostitution, etc.

I was 21 and my wife was 16 when me married 43 years ago, My father was 21 when he married my 16 year old mother and my wifes' parents were the the same age when they married. Today we would all be arrested. This is all BS.

This is a tough call and too many question unknown. If the girl gave consent and in high school most likely a sophomore with a senior embarrassment would be more of a factor than calling the police.

This would be a parenting issue more than a law enforcement issue and the parent should be teaching their daughter morals
