Anyone have one and how do you like it? Thinking about buying myself a new rifle for Christmas. I've got a Mossberg Patriot with a synthetic stock that shoots lights out but I kinda want something more traditional (wood and blue) Prefer it to be in 308. Yes, I know the official rifle of the OB is a Tikka but I'm leaning toward the Browning.

Big fan of browning firearms. Don’t own an x-bolt but have a pair of a-bolts knocking on 20 years old that still shoot tight.

Great gun, I have a slough of friends that hunt with them. I’m partial to the stainless on synthetic for a hunting gun but to each his own. Dang sure can’t go wrong with a .308. If it fits you and you like it buy the darn thing lol. Good luck!

I thought Carson swore that the X-bolt was far inferior to the A-bolt which preceded the X-bolt. I've had an A bolt for probably 20 years give or take a few years. Can't really remember the reasons he gave for them not being really good.

I have a Xbolt Hunter in 308 and love it. Paired it with a Zeiss scope and it’s far more accurate than I am. Plus it is purty with the the walnut stock and blued barrel.

Browning is meh. You pay a premium price for an ok rifle. I would say buy a Sako A7 for that price. Or a CZ550.

Thanks for the info. How are the triggers on the X-bolts? Are they adjustable?

I know you want a xbolt but may I suggest the tikka ctr in 308. I comes w/ a 10 round clip. I imagine its close in price.

I just picked one up brand new in an auction. I’m getting the scope mounted this week and will shoot next week. I’ll let you know.

My oldest daughter has the Hunter model in 7mm-08. One of my favorite rifles in the safe. Really accurate and handles really well. I’ve also owned the stainless Stalker model in .308 and like a dumbass I traded it off for a duck gun for why wife and another rifle. Still regret that one. The gun trade not the wife. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another XBolt. I have however found I like the Bergara Hunter and Tikkas better and they’re at the same price point

Browning makes a decent gun. But they are even better at marketing. The best action ever made is the mouser action. Ruger I think tikka and certain models of the wincerster have it.

Ruger and Winchester do. Tikka is a push feed, not a Mauser style CRF.
