Not sure he'll have a desirable team offer more.

There seems to be a market of one for his services right now

Of course he does
His clients are high profile and he makes them be patient and wait
It also doesn't hurt that his clients attract teams that flirt w luxury tax too
Let's see what happens w Keuchel and Altuve. Will be interesting. Altuve moreso than Keuchel

5/$100 mil is what the red sox should stick with.
JD is on the wrong side of 30 and has no value outside of his bat and will probably be a DH sooner than later and $20 mil is more than fair for someone who only hits

That is fine, but I wouldn't act like it is the end of the world.
I'm not worrying about it all. Me and the majority of Pirate fans are now apathetic.

The time to go for it was two years ago. That's the year after we won 98 games, let a bunch of guys go, and didn't replace them with anyone. All the while making millions in the process.

Not sure why you keep quoting this, I highly doubt it is 100% accurate since they only go off of certain numbers.
It is before interest taxes depreciation and debt. Do you think theyre not making millions in profits?

Well first off FA have to want to go to you, second most FA have proved to be worthless in reality. As far as trades, they've made trades. Maybe not the blockbuster you want but they've made deals.
We received six prospects for two of our best talents and NONE of them are in Baseball AMerica's top 100. I'll take my chance on free agents.

This is just fricking stupid.... MLB has much more parity than the NFL and has proven so over several years. I mean I look at what Cleveland did this past offseason as a firesale, they got rid of or traded almost everyone of value.
The Pirates have had at least six rebuilding efforts in the last 25 years. I dont see that in the NFL.
Also are you talking about the Browns? They're awful from their own decision alone. Unlike the pirates who are awful because they refuse to spend money..

NFL has penalties against the cap for trading I believe. Give it up dude. You're ruining the thread. Seriously , it's just spam.
There are no such rule in the NFL.

I will agree with you that Pittsburgh should have spent some money a few years ago to supplement their core when their contention window was open. And I totally understand why Pirates fans are pissed about that, and I do think their return on Cole was very light.
But your cross sport comparisons are completely absurd as most are and show you don’t really understand the fundamental differences between the two sports. Also find me a pro baseball team that is currently good that has built their team primarily through free agency, regardless of market size.
Now please stop shitting up this thread
ETA also the trade penalties he’s talking about in the NFL are for signing bonuses and yes they exist.

Yadier Molina is such a pansy
Wilson Contreras said the following
Molina gets upset and post the following
Now Contreras is back tracking
Wish he would have never backed down from his statement, there was nothing wrong with it. He wants to be the best and by studying his own tape he can knock out his own mistakes.
Wilson Contreras said the following
quote:
Contreras told the Sun-Times at Cubs Convention Friday that he no longer studies tape of Molina, Posey and other elite catchers.
“I used to watch a lot of those guys, but now I’m watching myself because I know that I’m going to be better than them. That’s my plan. That’s my [mindset].”
Molina gets upset and post the following
quote:
Molina didn’t take kindly to the remarks, and posted a response on Instagram along with a picture of himself with Posey and Royals catcher Salvador Perez at the All-Star Game.
“Respect the ranks, rookies” (or “respect the ranks, newbies”), Molina wrote in Spanish.
Now Contreras is back tracking
quote:
In Contreras’ other tweets Wednesday, he continued: “In my mind I aim to be the best and like I mentioned during the interview, I have enormous respect for these players, I honor and learn so much (every) time I play against Molina and Posey. I simply used them as examples of achievement in my professional career.”
quote:
“To use the best players as a model or standard and want to exceed them, I don’t believe is any disrespect simply motivation and Inspiration. Have a great night. God bless you all.”
Wish he would have never backed down from his statement, there was nothing wrong with it. He wants to be the best and by studying his own tape he can knock out his own mistakes.

Contreras is right, he's better than Molina.
Molina is probably one of the most overrated players of the last decade. He's been an awful hitter for like 60% of his career.
