They didn't even cut costs. They simply deferred their ad spots to a later date, presumably when the dust has settled.

ETA - I do genuinely believe Papa John's sales are affected by some NFL backlash. It isn't hard to imagine many Papa John's customers are susceptible to the politics game.

However, this idea that Papa John's was making some kind of statement yesterday is absurd. It was a marketing ploy, but the same people who stopped buying their pizza because of the protests will quickly jump in to buy pizza in this situation. You're not dealing with the sharpest folks in the world.

That thread yesterday was funny. All the boycotters pretending to order Papa Johns to show their support.

Pizza Hut is the best out of the big 3

Used to think Papa John's was the best. Had Pizza Hut a couple months back, and it was definitely better than it was previously.

Dominoes can SAFD tho. Shite tastes metallic every time I have ordered from there, let alone the pizza is always ridiculously overcooked. Frick that place and its stupid commercial with the people making pizza boxes as fast as possible. As if that is supposed to prove the pizza tastes any good.

None of that = sales being down to one third as you suggested

All of that = exactly what I said

since the NFL stuff started, they recently reported that sales are now 1/3 of what they were
So by that, you meant Bud Light consumption is down to a third when compared to its peak in 1988?

Sure thing, bud.

Hold up, you're saying Bud Light sales dropped 66% since the kneeling started?

No, I said that the Schumer/Rogen ads were pulled because it destroyed sales

And now with the kneeling situation added in, their sales dropped 5.6% more since football season started, and are now down to 1/3 of their historical peak

Yeah, just had one recently because it was the only option and all the toppings were cooked into the pizza. It tasted like burnt bread and sauce.

Little Ceasars is basically just giant bread with a piece of Pepperoni on top.

They all really suck. I'll still go to Round Table though. It's thin crust and cheesy albeit greasy. But it's sort of a good pizza greasy. But at least it's not just a pile of bread. And you can see the toppings, they aren't buried in sauce.

Sales have been dropping for decades, but it's the NFL's fault.

Put an anti-NFL spin on it and you dumbfricks will believe anything.

Thanks for the unintentional comedy on this fine evening.

Right at 1-2% a year. But lets just act like they didn't drop another 5.6% since the start of the football season

Whoops make that $13.7B for Pizza Hut and $3.49B for Papa John's

Actually revenue numbers for Yum Brands (which owns Pizza Hut, along with Taco Bell, KFC, etc) is 6.37 billion in sales/revenue, while Papa Johns is 1.71 billion in sales/revenue.

Sources:
Yum Brands!
Papa Johns

Yum Brands!
Total Assets: 5.48 B
Total Liabilities: 11.13 B

Papa Johns
Total Assets: 512.57 M
Total Liabilities: 494.3 M

Honestly, it's difficult to really compare Yum Brands against Papa Johns.

I bet Papa Johns has been affected by the controversy (as I assume other brands have as well) but probably not solely because of them. And I presume they expect it to eventually die and want to ride the NFL to higher sales; especially since they just deferred their ads til later.

I also wouldn't put it past Jerry Jones to use it to put more pressure on Goodell.

Sales in the US dropped 3.6% in Q4 of 2016. What do you attribute that to?

Down 4.7% in Q1 of 2017. Same question.

ETA: Also, Q3 is made up of July, August and September, correct? First NFL game was Sep 7. So you're telling me the kneeling BS did that much damage in 23 days?

Like I said, put an anti-NFL spin on it and you dumbfricks will believe anything.

ETA2: I like how you tried to put the blame of "1/3 of its peak in 1988" on this kneeling fiasco. It was a nice attempt.

Interesting you used the word contemplate. So no one has dropped USAA and it’s a load of hot air from people trying to look like they give a shite. Papa Johns isn’t losing sales to the NFL. It’s losing sales because it has a terrible quality/price point. Go look at Domino’s stock price if you don’t believe me. It’s absurd.

Exactly. Papa John's stock price has been on a steady decline for 12 months now.

Never seen a Roundtable here. I would gladly try it if I could ever find a chain. Until then, Imo’s will have to do.

At the first meeting, PJ owner said despite decreased sales,he would pull ads if owners mandated standing to the players.Today, he has flip flopped.

Get Jerra Jones’ junk out of your mouth John!
The irony of PJ kneeling to blow Jones every chance he gets is too funny.
