Texas Tech is reeling.

They are 4-4 and could easily lose out (yes even to Baylor). If this happens does Kliff get canned? I know he's an alum but consistently missing bowl games is unacceptable, even at Tech.

Doubt it. Not a high ceiling at TT.

Nope

They will have a meeting about his situation, then look at a picture of his, get all dreamy, and then keep him another year or 2.

Guy is living off his looks. He's like the Baywatch girl, who looks 2 good to fire, regardless of how old she gets.

I don't expect Tech to lose out, but I think he gets another year, even if they miss a bowl again. The only conference opponent they haven't really been competitive with the last couple of years has been Iowa State, strangely enough.

Had Tech not gagged the WVU game away, Kliff's future wouldn't even be in question IMO. If he can't find a mediocre enough defense to finish off games like that next year, then he'll be gone.

All it takes is for tech to play a decent half against a team and everyone goes "I've always like Kingsbury. Texas Tech is in good hands". Then they lose by 30 and go 5-7 and the cycle starts again

Kliff Kingsbury, Texas Tech

The Raiders are 28-29 in four-plus seasons under Kingsbury, who will make $3.5 million in 2017 — more than Wisconsin’s Paul Chryst and Virginia Tech’s Justin Fuente, among others. Kingsbury also carries a buyout of nearly $7 million, with no mention in his contract of mitigation or a requirement to offset that buyout with a future salary.

I disagree they will probably go 6-6 or 7-5

They haven’t lost to any particularly bad teams.

Kingsbury looked like he developed an identity complex vs. ISU. After slinging it all over the yard in a game they should've won in Morgantown, he RPO'd his team into dust vs. the Cyclones.

Numbers tell you run? Well you kind of suck at that, Kliff. And your little bit better D can't hold up vs. a team with man pants.

I think he's in the same place Dana was last year (before he hired Spav and now can't run the fricking ball) where the lightbulb is flickering on the air raid bullshite.

To answer the OP; short of losing out I don't think so.

Probably not but he should. Leach showed their ceiling is higher. Kiff should come be the OC at LSU.

If only they wouldn't have rail roaded Leach out of town.

By the way, does everyone here know that Craig James killed five hookers?
