Bucs won’t decide Jameis Winston plan for this week until Wednesday

Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter said after Sunday’s 17-3 loss to the Panthers that he considered pulling quarterback Jameis Winston from the game after Winston took a hit on his already injured right shoulder in the second half of the game.
Koetter left Winston in, but it seemed clear that Winston wasn’t totally right in the game against the Panthers a week after shining in the second half against the Bills. Koetter noted it was windy, but also said last Friday that Winston aggravated his shoulder injury against Buffalo and some have suggested it would be better for Winston to sit until he’s healthy.

Koetter said on Monday that the team would come up with a plan for Winston’s week, including whether he practices on Wednesday and Thursday, between now and Wednesday.
“There’s three factors in that,” Koetter said, via the Tampa Bay Times. “First and foremost is what the medical staff says. That’s for every player. Jameis is at the front of the list. Second is the player. The player knows if he can go or not. And then third, when we’re watching practice, if it doesn’t look like they can go or it looks like they can’t go at a success rate good enough for us to win. … But we haven’t had any of those things.”
Winston has started every game for the Buccaneers since entering the league as the first overall pick in 2015. The team will have to figure out if continuing that streak is in everyone’s best interest in New Orleans this Sunday.

I hope he plays so we can bring the pain!

If dk's Leash is long, I would consider calling it a year. They're so injured, their d is missing like 4 of their best starters. Winston injured. It's meh

It was those rape allegations catching up with him...

Hell I want him to play.

they need to look at his diet/exercise program. He looks like he's on his way to Jamarcus Russell territory.

When the Bucs had to move their bye week to week 1, I knew they were in trouble. The NFL is a long grueling season. Their players need a week to recover and as the year progresses, they are going to get beat up and tired. Unfortunately, I think we are going to start seeing a rash of injuries start with them.

I'd rather Crab boy with a dinged wing than a healthy Fitzpatrick with those receivers

Considerng this is their franchise QB, wouldn't it make more sense for them to sit him for 1 week to try to get him healthy. I just don't see how playing your starting QB w/ a bad throwing shoulder can be positive for the success of the team this season.

At first glance that looks REALLY bad, but the band around his waist makes it look worse than it is.
But still, that's a good size gut he is sporting. As the "franchise" you really should take better care of your body.

If they are fine putting him out there then I am fine with the Saints teeing off on him.
He doesn't look to be a 100% I would sit him but it's not our job to root for their own best interest.

I agree. Fitzpatrick is a good backup QB. He's very hit or miss, but he's capable of throwing for 300+ yards with multiple TD's. He went 22-32 for 220 yards, 3 TD's, & 2 INT's after he replaced Winston against the Cardinals (week 6).
Personally, I'd rather take my chances with Winston. He's banged up & had a horrible game last week against Carolina. Fitzpatrick has a higher passer rating as well.

He's too valuable to ruin by starting him
