I put the majority of our expenses on our credit card and never notice a dip in credit scores...at least the free FICA one my bank provides. It's consistently above 800.

I'm not talking about routine amounts. I'm talking about a 10k or more charge. Maybe I just need to get more cards. I only have one and it's got a pretty high limit.

Why? For language? This j arse tried to impress people with a fictional credit score. It's like if I bragged about being a bazillionare, fricking moron.

I can’t break 800 due to a thin file. Credit is for the poor, I pay cash.

So we're to believe that you have only one credit card, but the limit is high enough that you can charge a $10K vacation to it, but that doing so affected your credit score?

Yeah, gonna go ahead and call bullshite on you at this point little feller.

Any credit card with a $10K limit on it is't going to ding your credit simply because you actually used the damn thing

Limit on that card is 16k. But I maintain under 1k across all.

It fell. Already paid off. Just one helluva drop just for some change.

Unlikely I'll be above 800 anytime soon. No mortgage for a long time

Negative. LucasP is probably my favorite poster. If I later learned that he is the same person as KenM, I would not be the least bit surprised.

We have 5 cards. 3 from Chase; 2 from Discover. Basically a primary and backup for each of us plus an extra which I got for the airline miles. Credit limit for each is between 9k and 25k depending on when we opened it. Everything goes on them for the cash back and points. They get paid off monthly (except for after the flood for obvious reasons).

In reality OP's credit score is 450 and he just got one of those credit cards where you deposit $300 and they give you a credit limit of $150 and he went right out and spent the entire $150 all at one time and then didnt make the first month's payment and that's why his credit score got lowered.

Where? I can assure you that 850 is the highest possible, I look at credit bureaus daily and have spent more time in credit bureau seminars than id like to admit. But believe what you want.

I got downvoted for that pic

For you newer guys that don't know me, I'm the Finance Director at a dealership that sells 500+ cars a month. I deal with the crediks all day, everyday.

No way CC utilization made it drop 50 points. Check your reports and make sure it's right. Could have been reported late or could have cards opened under your name that you don't recognize. Seriously.

Because you show no credit score above 850.
