Chris Blair just doesn’t have it to be LSU’s voice

I’ve tried to like him. Very professional sounding and his baseball calling is pretty good. But for football he just doesn’t have it. Most of the time, he is calling big plays with zero enthusiasm or spark. Watch the first part of this video from last night for example. The two long runs by Williams and Guice right at the beginning, you would have thought it was just 10-15 yard gains. I wish we could have found a local guy who has LSU in his blood.

You just don’t have it to be writing sentence structure.
But the video is great.

The Spanish guy, speaking English, would do it. With Les on color.

Take: He's too professional

Don’t disagree but Blair is very good calling basketball and baseball games. His weakness is calling football

I agree. Too ho hum about big plays. Needs to have some excitement in his voice.

You morons never cease to amaze me.
People who didn't have LsU blood:
Nick Saban
Skip Bertman
Dale Brown
Mark Emmert
Les Miles
They turned out okay

I have to agree. Don’t know what it is but I don’t really like his football calls. It sounds artificial or something. Listen to foster Moreau’s TD as well. You would have had no idea at first how wide open and in the clear he was for a TD

Doug Moreau makes the radio broadcast unbearable.

Who really gives a crap about this? I mean is it that important?

I listened to it and found that kind of weird and out of the norm for him. If you listen to last week's calls he was VERY enthusiastic and excited. But for whatever reason he was lethargic this week. Maybe he was just spent from last week
But he's growing on me because I think he's becoming more and more of a fan. Anyways to each their own

I was thinking the same thing. Just needs to get more excited when the Tigers succeed

I think he does an excellent job. I don’t want to listen to some clown yelling at me. I think of the Gators’ Mick Hubert for example. He’s is horrible to listen to.

Agree with the OP. Too slow in calling what's happening. Reminds me of John Ferguson when I was a kid. I hear the roar of the crowd and have no clue what's happening for a few seconds. Play-by-play guys need to be very quick and immediate with their calls. And he doesn't show enough excitement for the big plays. He sounds too pre-packaged.

Strongly agree. Very professional. Sounds like he's calling a game he has zero rooting interest in. Which I suppose is true.
This is one of the few places in sports where I want to hear a homer on the airways. Not necessarily someone from Louisiana, but someone who is genuinely passionate about the team.
