There has not been anything to get excited about in Louisiana sports the last 5 years, and you expect people to discontinue melting?

Because a 35 year old just cut from a fringe playoff team is still the 6th or 7th most talented player on the Pelicans.

Jameer Nelson is not a plus player, so that says a lot about just how bad our team is.

It could help just if it allows Jrue to play in his more preferred role but make no mistake, Jameer Nelson is not a good basketball player.

How many games you think it takes to get to 20 wins?

A 35yr old that can shoot can’t hurt.

The Coach and Manager is the problem.

Hit a gut shot tonight from deep to cap the comeback run. Jameer is a destroyer

Can't wait til Rondo returns. If this guy seemingly made a critical difference on the court, imagine how much impact Rondo will have. Counting down the days.

Pels lose last night without him

It's not that he's so good, it's that he's not completely incompetent. I felt very comfortable with Nelson running the point at the end of the game. Had any other player on the active roster been trying to run the offense at the end they for sure turn the ball over or shoot their way out of the game with bad shots.

Kumar pointed out the difference in a series of tweets that also included a video clip. The TL;DR version is after Moore and AD waste most of the shot clock passing back to each other after each tries passing to Cousins on the low block, the ball gets reset on a foul. Nelson attempts running the same play passing to Boogie in the post. When he sees the entry pass isn't there he penetrates and kicks it out for an open 3.

Nelson was able to execute Plan B while Moore and AD, in typical Gentry Pels fashion act like Plan B is to let someone else try Plan A.

My favorite thing Jameer did tonight was a play where he didn't spend 40 seconds trying to throw an entry pass. Saw it wasn't there, drove.

Our guards spend so much time pump faking at the top of the key, this dude just put the ball on the floor and got an assist.

Play in question. Pels try to post up Boogie, takes a half hour. Pels retry after the foul, Jameer sees it isn't there and says eff it.

Shoutout to Ian Clark and Moore last night as well. But Nelson made such a huge difference down the stretch. You go from a low B-ball IQ player like Crawford to this, and it’s such a massive difference.
