Quads team won Area tonight. He scored 24. Drilled 5 3’s.

i would prefer to have players with tons of offers that still beat lsu's doors down to play here. being the first to offer him shouldn't matter. you either want to play at lsu or you don't.

With O in charge, those individuals are quite few. If they are National targets, the majority for some reason go elsewhere. Hope this year changes the opinion of most of us here. All we have to do is WIN WIN WIN!!!!

This is the most amazing post I've ever read on this site. Coach that touched me. Having a son, I could only imagine how awesome it would be to be able to bring your kids back to LSU and them be so proud! Man.. I really hope Quad ends up here. Sounds like a kid that cares about the University and wants to bring it back to dominance. I'm in.

You bet Shreveport Tiger. Lsu is staying in communication with him weekly and has asked him to come down for a few events this spring/summer.
Short of offering him, I don’t now fhat they can recruit him any differently. We are being patient.

A school recruits players
A recruit is what we need to provide players
The onus is on the school. While I do buy into that sentiment, for the school to look at it that way is to put itself at a competitive disadvantage.
Most elite schools make every player whose commitment that would accept as the most important player ever. Now some players are a little shell-shocked that on the first day of camp all that is gone, and everybody is a soft, know-nothing freshman getting a constant barrage of hybrid arse-chewings and instruction. All the while thinking, holy frick it is hot. The star ratings go away with the helmet.
However, until that point- treat each of them like they are the most important, even if disingenuous or a flat out lie, player to don the colors. The program will be better for it. Even the S/Teams player who you are willing to take the commit because he might be able to be molded into a starter because he's going to be going against that starter and you want him to try and earn those sweet promises you whispered to him on that unofficial visit.

i agree with all of that. you've got to wine and dine any target. but the theme of this thread has turned into how lsu needs to hurry up and offer quad or they are going to miss out. the staff has been recruiting him and doing their due diligence while doing the same with other qb prospects. not much else you can do.
my point was that if lsu does offer quad say sometime this summer and after several other schools, then that shouldn't matter if quad actually wants to play at lsu. they were on guys like moses and surtain for years and that didn't work out.

I'm just saying show interest early, but while you're doing that use the same event/time to get him to show you why he should get an offer. If he's a competitor and good at what he does he'll WANT to.
Don't wait for him to come to camp. Show up at practice instead of a game (forewarn his coach!) and ask him to drill for 15min. Not only will you get to see him up close, his teammates will love it. Bring Sullivan, have him give his teammate WRs pointers as they run routes for Engminger's drills. Make it even better- be there at 7:30am during summer 2-a-days. Get that miserable frigging practice kicked off right.
I guess what I'm saying is take the initiative. And I'm speaking about those special positions (not players, positions) where we have a special need. QB is obviously one of them.
And guess what, you do something like that... he'll be eager to camp. He'll choose your camp over many others in the yearly 'camp wars' we have now. Then you can check progress, evaluate further, and offer at that time.
It seems it's too easy to wait on game film, recruiting services, and camps to get to the 'interested list'. For certain positions, maybe that needs to change. I think it does for QB.

These usually don’t end well but glad to see this one is. What I mean by that is most scoff and think the poster is full of it or trying to get a 1 Star and offer at a power 5 school. If the kid loves Lsu, I hope he ends up here.

Gunnell is fresh off a decomittment from A&M and is visiting this weekend. He has always been priority number one so I bet they want to see where he stands, how he feels about possibly being in a 2 QB class etc.
In the next month or so I’d imagine is when additional 2019 QB offers may go out during spring evaluation.

I would have agreed with with you last week until we saw that LSU offered 3 other 2019 QBs last week. That’s a total of 6 QB offers for 2019.. We have to be smart about where we focus things, where to camp, and where he should spend his time. Several Power 5 schools are scheduling visits right now and LSU is just telling him “you will hear from us soon” or “we want you to come sometime this spring and summer, but no hard date or anything”
