Thanks for the update, Coach. Appreciate the insight and hope Quad succeeds no matter where he goes. Hoping it’s LSU!

Coach, I want to feel at home. Coach, I feel at home at LSU. I want to walk my son that I will have one day through this campus, just as you have and teach I'm all about what makes LSU home"

Quad gets it. If he goes tailgating one time at LSU, he'll be all in. I had a cousin that grew up in NC. He moved to LA. The first time I took him tailgating at Tiger Stadium, he told me we should have our family reunions on saturday before an LSU football game. He got goose bumps sitting in the stadium. This has happened to more than one person on their first game in death Valley.
I can't imagine being player on the field for a game.

Name the other 'recruit' or lose credibility.

So this is getting ridiculous. If the kid can play, and wants to come here, offer him a damn scholarship. It’s not like we have QBs breaking down the doors to come here. It’s almost as if this coaching staff does everything out of spite. Fans want him? Hell no we are not doing anything those people want! We need QBs, he wants to be here. What’s the problem? This could become an epic failure in the future if he goes on and does great somewhere due to this year long thread of proof.

I think the fact that he has been under the radar for a while now is probably part of the hold up. They still haven’t seen him throw in person. That said, I’d have my happy arse over there ASAP to see what he’s got and offer him right away if they think he has what it takes, which he does. I honestly trust Ensminger on this just worried O will F it up.

They have time. From everything Coach has relayed they are keeping in contact with him and showing interest. I would say, for now atleast, that's enough. In general, I would rather see them make well thought out decisions than rush into something.

Believe me, we are all very aware of your stance.

My stance is irrelevant. Why should they rush into an offer? They're doing what they need to do for the time being and keeping close to the kid. They haven't even seen him throw yet, and once they do I'm sure an offer will come pretty quickly if they like what they see. Which is exactly the stance they should be taking, and if they are heavily impressed by his arm when they see him live then absolutely they should offer.

Not convinced they will frick it up.

However, am in agreement they need to take their happy asses over to him during the next Eval Period (start April 15). I doubt they will have trouble getting him to drill & throw for them. Make a damn gesture. Me, I'd be on the phone with Landry or ODBj to see if they want to come be the target (dicey- they are 'boosters' under NCAA rules).

bad wording on my part... didn't mean to imply you were 'convinced'. I too am worried.

It is time to both change our strategy (as apparent from the lack of Surtain plan-B and early signing) AND approach (we are not on the same level as we once were- have to adjust).

Quad is a case in point. He's not going to beat down our door when offers are rolling in. We will soon be 'one of many' with elite teams getting the most consideration. So we have to risk more, hustle more, show more interest early.

Therein lies my worry. We can't continue to have the same approach based on being elite like a Clemson, tOSU, and yes... Bama. We will miss on the Quads & Etienne's of the the CFB world, as well as the Surtains & Goodrich's.

ETA: I'm kinda trashing the thread like him. I'll stop now. Sorry.
