Thinking about making the trip. Is it worth it?

Depends on what you are looking for. It is in the middle of nowhere. The parking is ridiculous. It is usually cold and windy. The OM fans are rude and obnoxious. It will be a hard game. So...
Geaux to Hell Ole Miss!

I'll never go back. Most pompous fan base in SEC with a team that's done nothing to be pompous about. You'll get cursed at by old ladies. Go if you enjoy that sort of thing.

This is the exact same thing their fan base says when they come to Baton Rouge. I've never had a problem. If they win they will be sky high and run a little smack.

The 2011 game at Oxford was the most fun I've ever had at a sporting event.

That was by far the worst of any Ole Miss football teams, and I've seen a lot of them. LSU had one of the most dominating teams, if not the most dominant, in the program's history.

We got tickets from a Rebear, cheap, on about the 30-yd line.

By the 4th quarter there might have been a handful of Ole Miss fans in the stadium, and the Grove was deserted post-game.

One of my favorite road trips hands down.

Ole Miss fans have actually always been pretty nice to me and Oxford is also one of my favorite SEC towns.

I went in 2003, and have been back damned near every other year. Best trip in the SEC IMHO.

If yes... geaux.

And their MILFs are rivaled by only LSU.

This will be my first trip as well. Man... this thread kinda has my head spun around... Up until about 2 mins ago, all I had ever heard was how overrated the Grove is, how pompous the OM fans are with their chandeliers hanging in their tents, and how they serve cold chicken fingers. I've also heard that they are very unwelcoming to any opposing fanbases, much different than your typical tailgate outside Death Valley..

So, you guys actually LIKE going to away games there?!?!

Don't be an a-hole, and you won't get treated like one.... for the most part. Almost everyone has been cool the times I've been to Oxford.

Tailgating at the Grove is fun, but very different, than what LSU fans are used to. I enjoy it as a change of pace, but prefer our version.

It's not the same 'scene' as LSU... but it ain't bad, just somewhat different.
