I know that this term is met with some ire when it comes to LSU, but with Canada's system do you think it would work for LSU? I know we have Brennan taking over the program next year, and he seems to be more Pro-Style, but do you think Canada will keep trying to recruit Dual Threat as long as he is here?

I think he want's to continue to speed up this offense, and make it more explosive.

I bet Canada really prefers a dual threat QB. It expands what he can do as a play caller.

I'll be happy with a qb that is just a threat.

He would kill with a dual threat and a good o line, but even with danny’s issues, he’s still making him look like a competent QB

40ppg last year at Pitt with a pocket passer. Canada doesn't want or need a duel threat QB Brennan will be perfect for his offense and Etling is just fine.

Look at the QBs the staff really giving the most attention to in recruiting.... Fields, Bohanon, and Justin Rogers. All are dual guys.

With all the motions that make it tough to stop the Rb runs between the tackles just think what a DT qb would do to defenses ? Etling would have had 100 yards on UF if he could run. I hope we land the Bohanan kid. Myles may be our best qb next year but when he and LN battle it LN keeps it close as far as command of the O and can make some throws as well he may win the job

Danny is more of a dual threat than JJ, Harris, or that other guy we had was!

He’s called a couple plays where Danny ran for a few yards pretty easily. I think a true dual threat would be lethal in his offense.

The ideal QB can...

Have a canon arm that’s extremely accurate
Think fast under pressure
Read defenses and get you in the right play
Run like Fran Tarkington
Run powerfully like Tim Tebow
Be a great leader

The thing is, that QB has never been made. Hall of Fame QBs have gotten by with only three of those attribuutes. So yes, a dual threat QB would be great. But it’s hard to find dual threat QBs who have all those other attributes. Inevitably you have to settle.

Nathan Peterman at Pitt wasn't a dual threat and that was his best offense ever statistically

If LSU could get a legit dual threat, yes, he would love 1. But what I have seen the last several years from LSU DT QB's is run/no pass, no run/no pass, & no run/halfassed pass.

And until we get 1 or develop 1, we will continue to struggle in any offense, not just Canada's.

I don't think dual thread or pro style matters to Canada. What he needs is a guy who understands the offense, executes it well, and makes great decisions. After that, pocket passer or dual threat, Canada will call plays to his signal caller's advantage.

Narcisse could beast in this system...Not sure how well he throws. Idk if he'll beat out Brennan in that category

Dual threat QB vastly opens up the playbook. That's the type of QB he is recruiting as we speak.
