I'm in! Much better than left turn racing.

Hope they get Buxton, Matchett, Diffey, and Hobbs as commentators

From what I can gather none of the NBC guys will be on the broadcast team. It appears ESPN is going to show the Sky feed with possible commentators in Bristol.
I'll never watch another F1 race if this holds true. My fricking hatred for espn has no limit, and I can only imagine the kind of half-assed, fricked up, brain dead, commentary they'll provide. frick espn.

Indy is still terrible
Except Indy probably has the most competitive racing out of any open wheel. Way way more than watching formula 1 hot lap all day, and yes I watch both.

I don’t watch ESPN now and this won’t change anything.

How did ESPN realize I wasn't watching their Channel anymore and switched to Formula 1 on NBC SPORTS? Hmmmm

Are the driver gonna take a knee for the anthem?
That's all that really matters anymore.

Fair point but can't take the ovals and the crap street tracks they trot out. I wish Indy would go to a three car team system similar to F1. Merc v Ferrari was a good battle to start the year.

But all the commentators other than Will Buxton should have been fired at NBC years ago.
Leigh Diffey is good but I like Bob Varsha better for the play-by-play. I don't really like Buxton at all. All he does is try to stir up controversy. I won't miss Hobbs. Matchett I can take or leave. He sometimes gives a pretty good technical perspective.

I can agree with that. Tracks like St. Pete and Long Beach suck. They should race at more tracks like Sonoma, Road America and Barber. I usually don't even bother watching the ovals except for (sometimes) Indy. Overall though, I like the competitiveness of IndyCar.

Buxton's grid interviews directly before the race is gold. He gets right bumps his way in, gets in their face and asks them a real question.
On top of that he is the only person that knows what is going on during the race. The studio guys are always clueless.
I'm in disbelief anyone in here wants to keep Hobbs or Matchett.

A couple of weeks ago Lewis Hamilton said he might but that he hadn't decided yet. I'm sure he'll be asked tomorrow. He posted a video on his Instagram that was a dog peeing on Trump, Mercedes took it down. I have a feeling Mercedes won't be happy if he kneels, they do sell quite a large number of cars in this country.

So they are fricking things up right from the start?

Nah, he's just not as good as Varsha.
I've watched almost every race since 2003. It's going to be strange watching an F1 race without Hobbs / Matchett calling the race.

Beth Mowins and Rex Ryan in the booth and Jemele Hill providing social commentary.

Indy, Texas, and Pocono have put on some fantastic oval races lately.
Barber reminds me of a racing version of Augusta National, its pretty impressive in person, and I do agree is better than street circuits, but the current Street Circuits aren't any worse than some of the old ones in parking lots, 90 degree only turns, or Cleveland where they put some cones on an airport and said 'have at it".

I think Indy racing is unique in that it's almost a perfect 1/3 split between Street, Road, & Oval racing.

I haven't seen anything about what their future will be. They obviously won't have anything to do at NBC, unlike Diffey, so I wouldn't be surprised if one or both switches to ESPN.
Varsha has already said that he called ESPN as soon as he heard the news.
