if I remember correctly, the most top ten Louisiana recruits Les lost in any one year was 5. Ed Orgeron lost 7 his first year.
truth....i did the same

With CEO...mainly his coordinators, I feel like we have a chance. This recruiting class was on par with Les' classes. Our kicker under Les couldn't kick it past the 5 yard line can all of the sudden kick it out of the endzone under CEO. I don't know, it just seems like there is hope, where once there was doubt.
You should have doubts, in the system. Maybe not O, but there's a reason few schools try the "figurehead" approach. Do we really think we can repeat Dabo's success?
For us to have "hope," we have to say the future is bright, but for the future to be bright:
1. At this point, Aranda and Canada have to stay for the next 2 years, you know because of the future hope we have....
2. If not, you're obviously hiring one or the other....who has to work well with whoever stays, and the team has to learn a new side of the ball from scratch because we have no foundational approach to the game
3. What if they don't get along?
4. What if every year we have "a meeting?"
5. What if pay and jealousy are an issue since O will get credit that he doesn't deserve?
6. What if both coordinators leave at the same time?
Too many questions to have hope. Even if O wins every remaining game but Bama, clearly something happened behind the scenes that could effect everything going forward. We have no idea.

I know we may be disappointed with a couple more games this season, but the future finally looks bright.
There's the moving goal posts again.

What has Les done the past 5 years?
In his last full season, we went into Bama week undefeated.

Stars don't mean everything...lets get players that fit our system....something we struggled with for years particularly at QB.
This is what Leslie Miles struggled with the most

Yes, it has been proven, stars do not matter.....

Name one team Les beat that had more talent than LSU? I'll hang up and listen.
Posted on 10/17/17 at 9:26 pm to Bayoufightingtiger
Correct !
For over a decade Les Miles accumulated 134 wins by having more talent than every single opponent LSU lined up against.
Miles had so much talent , in fact, that LSU leads the NFL with players on active rosters.
But , strangely enough, Les Miles always had more depth and more talent and more experience than any team on the other sideline.
And of course recruiting rankings mean nothing , it's all about player development except when it comes to those Les Miles teams.
And then along comes Edward Orgeron and Les Miles' luck runs out.
Edward Orgeron inherited a dumpster fire stocked with top 5 recruiting classes and 19 of 22 starters having 3 or more years in the program.
And somehow , Mississippi State and Troy always had less talent than LSU when Miles' was at the helm. Not so much with Edward Orgeron.
How do we get back to the talent level Miles was winning with for over a decade ? Or at the very least , get as much talent as Mississippi State and Troy?

Do you realize how many players have left the program in the last year? Again, name one team Les has beat with more talent? I can name many we lost and had more talent than the opponent.

I know it's crazy!!! And LSU never had that issue til this year !!!
How did Les Miles get all that talent to stay every year and how did those NFL rosters get full of Tigers?

Expectations could not be really high this year considering we lost the best RB in college and lost numerous lineman. Young and unproven WRs and a very young secondary. The wins over FL and Auburn show that this team is growing up. We should of competed for more titles and had more 10 win seasons with the talent Les had.

Of course , of course ...just crazy Les never had any kind of depth , talent or experience issues , yet stocked the NFL.
I hear ya , dude.

Les Head Coach - 10 years plus
CEO Head Coach - 6 games
6 games and you have him measured - amazing

Miles only wins at this level due to having more talent than anybody else.. Saban wins because he has more talent than anybody else... see his other coaching jobs to compare. That's generally how it is in programs that sustain winning not just have pop up seasons every few years. It's the players.

Stars actually mean a whole fricking lot. Arguing otherwise using anecdotal evidence of a handful of great 3 stars is a middle school argument.

Miles dealt with OL restructuring just about every year of his tenure, now it seems to be a big excuse.
Seamless transition!!!!!!

In Les, are you referring to GoodOleLess 9-4 Miles ?
Posted on 10/18/17 at 9:40 am to cheeser
I couldn't stand Les' arrogance 1 second longer, I needed a timeout. :rimshot:

Les didn't have us "hoping and praying" for fricking stop-gap JUCO recruits after losses to Troy.
