You did the right thing. For safety in a fire or an active shooter, those exits need to be functioning!

frick bass pro shop and frick all your figs for defending them for not having operational fire doors. I hope yall get caught up in a bass pro shop and none of the doors work. I just don't understand why the poors have to defend these multi million dollar companies from following the rules. If yall's single wide didnt have a workable door, yall would be bitch about that to too.

Good for you OP.

Being from the Construction industry I’ve had constant interaction with the SFMs Office over the last 10 years. By far the most helpful and good intentioned state agency I’ve dealt with. The inspectors usually are knowledgeable and above all else helpful. They want you to get it right.

Egress paths in buildings are designed based upon available exits and occupancy. If there are multiple entrances, everything from sprinklers to fire extinguisher locations is laid out according to this. Imagine in an emergency you are directed to the nearest exit and the damn door is locked because some store manager decided they were too lazy to want to deal with unlocking a door?

This is where I stand too. You could have called the fire Marshall and moved on with your day.

Congratulations on being the only person in this thread to properly spell marshal with one L.

They used that common screwup as a plot point in Justifed. A guy claimed the “US Marshall” had seized his website and posted a shutdown notice. Raylan looked at it and said, “I’m pretty sure that if we did it we would have spelled our name right.”

This.

You are not taking an hour whining about a sale price on a sweater. You are pointing out a major risk for loss of life.

Kudos to the OP.
