I love the guy and he is tough as nails. But it’s obvious Brennan is far and away the best QB on the roster. Brennan gives us our best chance to win each week and it’s time to get him ready for next yr.

The only reason to start him is his experience and leadership. It gets old watching him overthrow receivers

Crazy how Etling gets a pass by a lot on this board and Jennings, Harris, Jefferson didn't.

I guess it's because he's a guy that brings his lunch pale to every game.

Brennan is better than Etling but he's more prone to make mistakes. If the game is close and Etling is not throwing picks, I think we need to stick with him.

Why because he can't walk on water?

And I'm not so sure Brennan is the answer because we really need a good duel threat.

By the way, who says that Brennan is far and away the best QB on the team? You, what's your credentials? Brennan fan, oh okay, that's what I thought. Anyway, coach O said it at half time, Brennan is not ready. So get loss and stop with the childish nonsense.

Agreed! The guy is tough as nails and he's a gamer but he is simply not an elite or even average QB by anyone's standards. He threw 2 passes downfield the entire game and both were nothing but hail Mary's. You would think he would have thrown at least one good pass more than 5 yards. It's either bad route running by our receivers or perhaps Etling simply cannot throw the ball downfield - besides the bomb. WTF?

How obvious is it?

Brennan has won zero games. I think Etling is something like 10-5 as a starter.

The old weekly best player is the freshman on the bench thread.

Why, because of this?
Passing:
18 Attempts, 10 Completions, 2 INTERCEPTIONS.

Or maybe because of his running ability.

We won because D.E. Did not turn the ball over. We lost to Troy and Syracuse was close because of interceptions by a true freshman qb. Additionally, we have three true freshman playing on the oline right now.

I think M.B. Will be a good one. If you want to win today, D.E. Is your best shot. M.B is the future.

Brennan needs to come along as he is comfortable with the offense. He needs some work on physical mass to toughen up. This year is truly a rebuilding year. Lets see if the coaches can encourage the team how to play 60 minutes and tough, and appreciate them for their grit. Next year, the freshman linemen playing now, will be in a more experienced state.

I saw Etling take at least two hits that would put you, me, and Myles on the cart. And that was just against Florida.

That's not a dig on anyone, especially Myles "Moose" Brennan.

More rice with your gumbo, baw! I can hear it now, clear as a bell.

I agree somewhat. I’d say once the season becomes a total loss (one more sec loss) then turn it over to Brennan. We definitely need to groom him and let him take his bumps and bruises so he can be a little more experienced for next year

Honestly I think both QBs should play. Etling is the safe choice, but O should not be thinking about being safe. Brennan will make a few mistakes but has way more ability. Better arm, quicker release, and a bit more accurate...

Etling is ranked 34th in the country in passer rating. 5th in the SEC. He has completed over 60% of his passes. He has only thrown one pick (a desperation chuck at the end of the Troy game). Myles has two in far fewer attempts.

Etling’s play is the least of our problems. The backup isn’t always better. It makes zero sense sending a lanky true freshman out there behind this OL to get eaten alive by SEC competition, especially when he’s the future of our offense.
