I don't pay much attention to whining and complaining - here or on most yocal talk shows.

When Landry, who I'll stack up against anyone in breaking down film, says the program is a complete mess, I believe him.

To understand more truth, not rumors, of what went on behind the scenes with O's hiring, embarrasses me as an alumni.

It's humiliating, because we've paid and built a program that's ready for success.

I don't want to go back to my College days in the early nineties when we hoped we could give someone a close game.

All athletics or just football? We are pretty good in some sports.

This is a completely ludicrous statement and a loser mentality.

LSU has one of the NCAA's most profitable athletic departments. On top of that, we have as as many built-in recruiting advantages as almost any program besides Texas or Southern Cal. We have one of the most fertile recruiting states and we are the only major football program in that state. All of the schools in Alabama and Florida have very stiff recruiting competition from in-state schools. Also, the states that surround Louisiana are fertile. The fact that we have more players in the NFL than any other school shows that we can get the players we need.

The people in charge at LSU had a Ferrari and turned it into a Saturn by making a lot of bad decisions over the last few years.

Letting Saban go was a huge mistake. The Landry audio really says a lot about the mentality at LSU. It should make clear to anyone that having a great AD is central to success. LSU is more about save money than let's build something that will be a huge success. Do it on the cheap. Poor reflection on the state if you ask me. The school deserves better especially its students. I wonder what Alleva's MMPI looks like. Probably a full on narcissist. Wold like to see CEO's as well. He is salty nutz....

I'll put $100 down that if this team finishes 3-9 or 4-8 that Alleva and O will not be employed by LSU next season.

OK. Fair enough. Now just provide the evidence that you know what you are saying. If you are right, why is everything done and the cheap and why are fans being chiseled by the morally bankrupt AD?

I'll wait.

On September 21, 2017, the Wall Street Journal published an article about the value of university athletic programs. It applied "for-profit" principles into coming up with a "value." Matt Moscona discussed it extensively on his show that day and for a few days after.

I saw a thread on this last evening here on the Rant, and I mentioned this in posts all day long on Tuesday.

THE Ohio State University is the largest, most valuable football/athletic program in the nation, worth over $1,000,000,000.00. Texas and Oklahoma, too, are worth over a BILLION dollars. #4 and #5? Alabama and LSU. LSU is worth, according to the article over $910,000,000.00

Over NINE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS. Why IS everything done on the cheap? This is a huge program, it should be a huge plum to be the football coach at LSU. Saban left to go to the NFL, Miles lasted eleven and a half seasons.

None of these programs, sad to say, should lose by 30 to State. None of these programs should lose, AT HOME, to Troy. Sorry. When you're the fifth largest program, you should be able to land whatever coach you want, recruit players, and fill your legendary stadium.

How does your CEO get hoodwinked by both Tom Herman's and Jimbo Fisher's agents? I'm a pretty soft guy, myself, but how does the AD at LSU, the CEO of nearly a BILLION DOLLAR organization, get so easily manipulated? How does his board allow this?

It starts at the top. Saban was fully supported by Emmert who understood the benefit of a strong football program to the benefit of the school as a whole, including academics. The current administration has no understanding of that, hence what you see.

This is absolutely NOT true. We have most all of what we need in order to compete. We also have enough money to compete.
The thing that we must have, the thing that is most needed is what is wrong with the whole damn state. We have politicians and others playing pat on the back and money handshakes. They will not relinquish the power nor the money, to bring in someone to do what it takes.
Emmert was what got saban here...no one else...and he left due to the politics. Until the shite show ends, this is what we will have.

Save it dude, I was saying almost two years ago when Jimbo was being considered that he was never coming....caught hell. Said last year that after the way that Miles was handled by Alleva that most of the established coaches wanted to stay away...all said b.s. that coaches did not care about this sort of stuff.

Thanks, Chris Landry

If those numbers are true it does beg the question. Why is the department chiseling everyone? Get a good coach and pay accordingly. Put in facilities that are second to none. Have a nice large and maybe dark recruiting fund a la Gumpland and then get to work.

On the other hand, how does that value translate into cash flow? Curious cuz right now LSU is looking the part of a cellar dweller.

I know all of this. Alleva never should have been hired and those responsible for this moral cripple being at LSU should all be dismissed unceremoniously.
