LSU is more about save money than let's build something that will be a huge success. Do it on the cheap.

And this surprises you in what way? Louisiana and the mentality has always been this way coupled with foolish expenditures . Think about this: you fire Orgeron, that's 12 mill to have him sit on his sofa in Mandeville on top of the 3.5 million you paid him in salary. Now add to this Les Miles who is getting paid handsomely for going to the bathroom on air for Fox....on top of what Fox is paying him...the remainder of his buyout is around 9.5 million although prorated. This is bad enough. Add this altogether and LSU has spent 25 million on Alleva's mistakes.

Now, let's go find a new coach.....first, you have to fire Joe Alleva, no decent football coach will come to LSU while he is here. That's going to cost about 1 million since Alleva is making 725 K. We are at 26+ million assuming there is a buyout for Alleva.

Finally we have to find a new coach. First, PJ Fleck ain't coming ....not with his buyout at Minnesota after just 1 year. But let's say a hot coach is going to cost about 6 million a year minimum plus his buyout and we can put that at 4 million....we are at 37 million to fix a mistake .

We would have done better to just wait to have canned Miles after last season

Cannot disagree with any of that. Look at the BOT or BOS whatever it is called. Look at the President of the university.

Landry is squared away for sure. He was there and therefore knows much of what happened first hand. It is a nice glimpse of the mindset inside the athletic dept and maybe much of the university.

In terms of money it is football or bust. Maybe football would be more accurate, but basketball has been a disaster for some time now as well. The fact is that NONE of the other stuff really matters, all due respect to those athletes.

We also have enough money to compete.

Well, the state of the program does not reflect this assertion.
