well the resolution itself doesn't affect homosexuals in these countries one single iota, either
this is just pure virtue signaling
what's the advantage of pissing off China, Russia, and/or KSA for virtue signaling?

The most anti gay administration in modern American history.
The past administration only sided with gays on issues like marriage after it became politically advantageous. Don't pretend the man that was completely against gay marriage when he entered office had a change of heart because he was suddenly enlightened.

I'm glad we can finally talk about real issues. There are too many gay men executed in the U.S. for having consensual sex.

yeah
LINK
what's the point?
SERIOUSLY, what's the point?

The other countries who voted against the resolution were Bangladesh, Botswana, Burundi, China, Japan, Qatar, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia (which currently has the death penalty for sodomy).

The resolution doesn’t call for the end to capital punishment altogether, but asks member nations not to use it in a “discriminatory manner”

Actually you are correct. Trump really wants all gay and lesbian people to face the death penalty. Probably making plans to round them up at this very moment. Part of his masterplan to ingratiate himself with the American people and the global community.
With those nasty LGBT folks facing certain death it will now pave the way to push his agenda through.

If you're killed we shall all express our 'thoughts and prayers.'

Toddy's gone
he gets these totally biased stories from pink news and his LGBT groups on social media and tries to "gotcha" the board and when confronted with actual discussion, leaves. he will only come back when he's copied the responses/questions to him in this thread to those outlets and gotten their responses
Toddy is nothing more than a drone whose next original thought will be his first

Maybe we just didn't feel the need to tell other countries what they can do within their own justice system?

Wait, I thought you leftys loved your Muslims.
Did they pass a similar resolution protecting heterosexual consensual sex?

Why would they vote against this? Have yet to see one defense of this in this thread.

I'm still here. You still haven't given one reasonable explanation for voting against this. That's pretty weak using China as the reason. We piss of China all the time. Trump has already done this SEVERAL times since he's been in the WH. The Taiwan incident was a LOT bigger than saying gays shouldn't be killed if they have sex.

That makes a hell of a lot more sense than his post. Thanks.

China
there's one
Saudi Arabia
there's two
Japan
there's three
we kind of need help from all 3 right now in international issues that actually matter and that we can solve
let me ask you this: what will this resolution ACTUALLY accomplish? you didn't answer that
secondly, if the US was truly against this resolution, why didn't we use our security council veto?

Where was the Obama Admin for the last 8 years when these nations were dropping gays off the top of buildings?

Why did Obama align us with them?

U.S. votes AGAINST resolution banning death penalty for gays that have consensual sex
What was the rationale behind the USA's vote? Surely you're not suggesting that Trump doesn't mind if gays get killed for having sex. So what is the real reason for our vote?

Toddy, link me a better source
Posted on 10/3/17 at 11:15 am to Toddy
That’s a pretty disgusting group of countries to be aligned with. Has the Trump admin released their reason for voting against?
