Do our struggles on the field make anyone question the "3 star" argument?

the justification so recruiting so many 3 stars was the insane expertise of our coaching staff in identifying talent
well, our staff has shown it's inability to actually identify talent (the current gaps on the team) and serious issues with coaching (the current product on the field). why do we have any sort of faith that our "3 star plan" is anything other than the classic Orgeron laziness?
is the absolute disaster that is O on the field already seeing its effects off the field?

A month from now, this will seem like a warm fuzzy dream. I cringe when looking at the schedule.

These types of performances look really bad for us, it will start to impact recruiting. Kids want to play for a winning program and compete for national titles and have that exposure.

i'm talking more about all the 3 stars we have committed already
the defense was "these coaches are experts and we have to trust their evals"
but do we really?

O sold himself as a great motivator and recruiter
So far is failing at the 2 things that we all thought he brought to the table

Do you think any school, LSU included, would take a three star over a five star if they had the choice.

Not to mention the fact that we let Clemson's best running back get away.

Especially love when we'd get a unheralded player commit out of nowhere and this board will find ways to make sense of it by trusting the staff..
We haven't exactly developed 3 stars like some will suggest...most barely contributed very litthe over the years

O's selling point to recruits is that the current players in the team are garbage (of course forgetting the fact that he and much of the staff are the people who recruited the "bad" talent). So come to LSU and play right away because our current players suck.
I can't understand why it took 2.5 games for the team (and program) to quit on this bozo?

Two 3 stars make a 6 star, duh.

Team was bleeding for the past 3-4 years but O has accelerated it. Now he's going to be seeing major gaps in talent because the recruiting classes will be mediocre again. So to answer your question no...why would anyone trust him?
Have to hand it to the snake to be in the positions he's in. Worked the system and understands how Louisiana culture works with the good ole boys network. Slithered himself in and stole millions from LSU. He'd make a perfect Louisiana politician. Upgraded from a flat boat to a yacht. A guy who absolutely did not deserve to coach LSU and any reasonable football fan be it LSU fan or not would agree. Karma has a way of biting you in the arse and LSU made their bed for how they treated Miles last year. He absolutely needed to go but not the way they did it. They deserve everything hitting that administration right now.
Program is probably set back for many years now. He's not going to be able to keep elite talent like Miles did so every year it will be a few more years setting us back because the remaining talent will get ever slimmer. It really does look like a decade recovery the more you analyze it. We're now the new Texas. What makes it worse is I doubt we could get a really great coach at this point due to how badly Alleva handled Miles 2 years ago, last year and if somehow O gets fired within the next year. No established coach in his right mind will come here even flashing the big $$$ to them. We're going to have to relegate ourselves to finding a young hungry coach who can prove himself and those are far bigger risks.
In short: We're fricked so you're just going to have to deal with mediocrity for years to come

Only silly people would ever want a roster full of 3 stars over 5 stars. But I don't think LSU is turning away 5 stars. They're just hard to get and 3 stars are what's available.

Kids were already skeptical when LSU hired O, that's why we can only get commitments from 3 stars lately.
Then the games begin and O goes out and confirms their fears. No kid in their right mind would come here with O at the helm.

Exactly, you hire a proven failure as a head coach and that's all the ammunition competing coaches need to dissuade top recruits away from LSU. "Why go to LSU? They just hired a proven failure to run that program, where we have a top tier HC or up and comer."
Simply put, I think top recruits are going to get good enough advising to go elsewhere until O proves he's not a failure and at this point, he's proving he actually got worse as a coach.

Depends if you still believe the narrative that has been touted...
"Look at their offer sheets, they will be 4 stars soon."
But I guess the real question is do we believe they will be developed while here or not.

Not once I have seen him engaging the players on the sideline. Every time the camera pans to him he is looking as if he is watching two dogs fricking on his front yard.

He looks out at the players on the field, claps and keeps "let's go baby"

What about the actual sideline coaching. The troy game there were so many mistakes on defense ie wrapping up when tackling. Not once he went to those players and say look you need to wrap up or try to light a fire under their arse. The team always looks deflated on the sideline he should be over there "motivating" instead of allowing them to mope around like some one stole their bikes. Where is the fight in this team? We get down by a shite down against MsSt and we got players doing the Mutumbo finger with like 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter down by 20 points like WTF? This whole team needs an attitude adjustment.
