Having been cheated on, I can relate. Don’t go through with it until you have separated from your wife. After my wife and I separated I felt free to pursue relationships. I didn’t have kids tho.

Nope. Forty-nine years, never crossed that line. Fell in love with her the first moment I laid my eyes on her. Been through a lot she and I. How'd we do it? God, my friend. With God all things are possible. Went to Church every Sunday for all of our married life, in good times and bad. Still do.
She is more beautiful today than when I first laid eyes on her. I see the totality of her being.
Superimposed on her slightly wringled face, is the face of that blushing bride I was completely smitten with all those years ago.
How did I find her? I asked God to send her to me, and He did.
Love is a decision you make every single day.
Man...I wish I could have something like that again. Wish I could have that kind of faith and goodness.
I envy you. When my wife cheated on me and left, it broke me. She told me she never loved me. Never wanted me. And that broke whatever part of me that believed in a love like that to the core. And most of what I've seen in the years since, what I've experienced, has only served to reinforce that view.
I'm so glad it still exists somewhere in the world. I hope that maybe my children can find that real kind of love.

I'm sorry things turned out badly for you, I really am. I can only imagine the hurt and betrayal you must be feeling. But you fully intended to be faithful to your wife. God sees that.
Don't give up. Consider this. Out there is a woman who has undergone the same betrayal as you and is just as lonely as you. Look to some, my advice may seem unrealistic, but I do believe in the power of prayer. I do believe that love can happen (again) at any age no matter the brokenness of the individual.
I have a close friend who went through a bitter divorce. He's now a deacon in our Church. Trust me, he was so devastated by the experience. But he stayed active in his Church, prayed and now he's married to an absolutely wonderful woman.
There are some awfully nice, wonderful and decent women who would love to meet a good man like you.
Keep the faith and pray.

I don't understand why people are proud of how they screwed a married person.

Been cheated on and it is indescribably devastating. I could never do that to someone I love

I mean...I'm not that lonely. I have women who I can call on for company. I just broke up with one I loved and cared for deeply because there wasn't long term viability for where I wanted my life to go (more kids).

I'm incorrigible. Just a rascal and a rapscallion. I've got the wanderlust. I don't know if I'm even the settling down forever type.
Besides, I've got kids. Who is gonna want to start a real relationship with someone who already has kids that aren't their own?

I don't think you destroyed them. You were simply a symptom of what was wrong with them. it was over before you came along.

This is exactly the kind of man I’m with. He wants the forever, but he’s addicted to the attention from other women. It’s a struggle, and it sucks. I love his child like my own, and that has been what kept me there when things were bad.

It's only going to get harder as you spend more time with the kids and further develop those relationships.
Cut him loose, IMhumbleO.
