Coach O is tweaking the offense?

Just read this on DandyDon so this is probably Germans to many of you who read it during breakfast..."Someone from Twitter asked Coach O how much freedom he gives Matt Canada to run the offense. “I let him run it but obviously make some adjustments if something needs to be fixed.”
So Coach O with a defensive line background is going to fix one of the hottest offensive coordinators from 2016 offense? That explains a lot. I swear if he reverts back to doing what he did at Ole Miss...

Someone clearly needs to help Canada, ftr.

Hopefully it just suggestions and not commands.

There are absolutely zero coordinators in high school, college, or the NFL that have full autonomy and are closed off to suggestions from the head coach, no matter his background. What fricking planet do you guys live on?

Tweaking it? Didn't we just dumb it down?

99% of all posters here think we can tweak the offense. If we can do it, why cant O. He knows more than we do.

It's what I didn't understand about the hire. No one wants him to call plays but no one wants him to do nothing either. Why hire him? Is he just supposed to recruit and be a figurehead?

Hey dumbass did you not see the beginning of the Cuse game and how ineffective we were on offense?
Ok now did you see when we made the adjustment right before the half, and after half time how effective we were?
Yep that was that idiot DL coach you speak of and his input. I swear some of you have been dropped on your heads as a child.

He likely asked Coach Canada to bring some alternatives to the table.
For instance, we could have linemen shift into their natural positions from an initial reverse set- instead of the opposite- and allow them to play with more certainty and aggression.
Putting more receivers on the field, moving Etling into the shotgun or booting/rolling more from under center and giving greater emphasis to the intermediate passing game (less to the deep, PA plays) have all been discussed at length in the talk shows.
I think we'll see some variation and outright change in our approach on offense. It doesn't need to be radical or earthshattering to produce a marked improvement. We aren't that far away, we just haven't found the answers, to date, but some very bright people are giving it their best.
Suffice it to say it's a work in progress. That said, I think we'll see improvement and gain momentum as the season progresses.
