Annnnnnnnnnnnnddddd I'm starting a new tool
Not gonna do survival this time. Gonna rock mods as well. Thinking about going full blown minuteman and then turn heel with the Raiders later on.

It was in West Everett Estates. Listening to the dad's logs marks a hospital on the map that she was working at. Went there and found a holotape from her indicating she might have escaped there. So she maybe made it out, her family evacuated their bunker, I'm holding out hope they found each other but probably not. I found a steam thread where it mentions investing a middle school near the estates so that's where I go next.
ETA I just googled it, Big John's Salvage Yard, and YES, I found that one, I believe. It's the one where the family locked themselves in the vault but it was airtight and couldn't get it open, and they suffocated in there?
This game is sad.

It's shiney. But not up to par with 3 or NV. But maybe I'm just jaded now that I have played so much of the Fallout Series.

those vault back stories are all basically little renditions of my own personal hell.
re: building settlements, the system was so indepth.
I had an automated defense system that would automatically shut down 4 giant water pumps and switch all power directly to a battery of laser and rocket turrets anytime someone sounded the alarm
I had that shite wired via switches and circuits . So when not under attack I had all electricity generating water. and then when under attack, one NPC flipping 1 switched activated a siren that turned the entire water production grid off and turned on my defenses
I actually enjoyed having my settlements attacked so I could see the firework display my defense system would create.

ETA There's a part of me that wants to focus on getting some settlements up and running, just to experience that side of the game, but I have little faith it will stick.

its weird. I normally don't build or decorate shite in any game.
the thought of running ghetto electricity to my own personal shanty town of hobos and unsavory ruffians , who I equipped with miniguns, was just too funny.
I really just needed an excuse to build a giant museum to store my Power Armor and a bedroom to show my magazine collection ... then it spiraled completely out of control with my ideas

I started a replay of new Vegas with mods and it's way better than 4

I didn't play for long last night, but I did have a funny moment when I went back to my home base and accidently clicked "Take All" on the storage area where I dumped all my extra crap. My carry capacity read "1152/240". Took me about 5 minutes to dump it all back.
