I'm not sure the current offense is worse than what Les & Cam were rolling out in 2014 and 2015, but it's certainly no better.
O promised we were going to run the spread. That was part of his hire. Where is it then?
The only thing that is demonstrably better about the offense at this point is the coaching staff's willingness to use different personnel. With Les, we were going to roll with "his guys" no matter what. At least those days seem to be gone, which is good.

How about he just give back his money and take a hike?
I went from a Canada believer to a Canada Hater.
This guy has no idea how to coach or what to do. No idea how to handle a line who can't block combined with a qb who isn't that good. All we did was cripple our running game by eliminating the fullback AND make our receivers tired from running half the field each play for nothing but just the sake of having movement. How hard is it to run 8 yd outs with a few crossings and a pressure relief to the RB? Syracuse tore us up with it. Sure we ended up on top due to them dropping key receptions, but we in no way Beat that team Saturday.
So any idea of blaming the players just isn't realistic unless you had a bunch running the wrong routes. It's not entirely a west coast spread type, just enough to get them to unload the box.
And if we get a few interceptions, so what? I hate the idea of doing nothing because you're scared sh!tless of throwing a pick. It happens, you get over it and keep throwing. We shut our whole offense down and run into a brick wall the rest of the day after our Freshman throws a bad ball. He should have kept him in there and doubled the pass plays to show him he could do it. Not sit him and tut tut about changing his already dumbarse offense.
Sorry but we got totally ripped off in this deal and as far as I'm concerned, he's a thief based on his performance so far.

He's said a few times, and it's very clear, that we don't have the experience to run a lot of WR sets. Plus if your blocking is crap, you have to devote more players to that instead of having them run all over the field.
Honestly, these receivers need to get the experience one way or another, so if that's the main thing holding them back from running more spread, screw it. Something needs to give.

Bull. It's the reverse. Canada has been handcuffed since he arrived in BR. It's the reason the offense has been predictable. Let the man run his real offense. Cause right now he is not. O has been asking for "simplification" b4 the 1st kickoff. Then tells the media the exact opposite smdh
Really? Did you mean to put /s on the end of that? Or do you have some inside info you would like to share with the class?

Every time they are shifting and motioning, the defenses seem to be totally unaffected.
This is what I saying on Saturday!

I think kudos are warranted - now there seems to be senior preference on WRs, but as for everyone else, they've tried every combination of scholarship linemen we have except Deculus and Cush, I think. And, I think it's about time we started seeing them (or more of them - not sure either have played during meaningful time or at all).

U know we get a lot of dumb and just plain uninformed post around here. This one I think takes the cake. How many coaches can handle a line that can't block and a QB that isn't very good. If Drew Breese gets hurt what do you think happens to Sean Payton's play calling?

Absolutely. Rarely do I see the defense make any changes when we shift back and forth multiple times. Probably confuses our guys more than the defenses.

Definitely would love to see the pistol implemented in some way. Give the QB full vision of the field with a few yards further between the QB and the DL. The QB doesn't have to think about deep drops and the RB can still get the ball downhill.

That's because you can't see the whole defense. I promise you they are affected.

YES

Weren't the motions and shifting the entire reason he was hired? like, that his hook, and that was the basis for his success...
so dumb...

Yea, but he doesn't have anymore practice games after this week. If the loses start piling up he will lose the team. Look how they quit against ST.

At least this guy is recognizing when something isn’t working and actively tries to fix it.

Yeah I've been saying since miles years. Need less ace tight formations and more shotgun split with 3 Wideouts or shotgun single back with 4 wide or 3 and a TE. RUN FROM THE GUN. he is not using the things that need to be done to spread teams out other than some end arounds and a guy in motion for pre snap reads and trying to at least keep one guy on defense honest.

If they successfully build on BOTH the bad and the good, then I'm happy. A coach should always be looking to improve, good enough is never good enough so to speak. The ability to critically self-scout and find faults (and address them) is a foundation.
