What do these idiots want, a President who doesn't like our flag or country?
I mean isn't it a kind of a requirement of the job to, you know, actually like and defend the American flag and the country it stands for?

The SJWs confuse country and government. It's fine to hate or dislike the current government. It is not ok to hate our country. The flag represents our country.

The flag is just a symbol. I want a President who's more interested in defending our rights to free speech, and not bullying a private enterprise into firing it's employees for that right to express free speech.

This is where the disconnect is and the talking heads won't say it. A lot of people probably agree with their message. They just disagree with the hate of the country.

Dumbest post I've seen on here, and that's saying a lot.
Of course there is freedom of speech, just like there is freedom to criticize that speech or fire someone for that speech if they're doing it on company time.
And the President has the freedom to actually like the flag. Sorry that triggers you so much.

You mean like the company I retired from saying offensive decals and plates on a vehicle will not be tolerated? That kind of private enterprise? FWIW, it's a company of around 40,000 people nationwide. So there's a private business right there denying the rights of its employees.

Inform think anyone is arguing that any private enterprise can restrict an employee’s speech while representing the business. Or penalize saidnemployee for violating any such restrictions. Whether they should is an entirely different discussion.
What I find troubling here is the president (no matter who or what party) using the power of the presidency to try and coerce a private business/owner to fire employees for something he doesn’t like. That’s dangerously close to government abridging free speech. I’m not entirely sure it actually crosses the line, but at the very least it is very close.

It is hypocrisy at its finest when the left and minorities use “this is what America is about” when it fits their narrative, but they are the same groups limiting free speech whenever possible. If this was being done by mainly white players, they would have already lost endorsement deals and probably their jobs.

Trump simply exercised his right to say what he thought about it. He isn't forcing the NFL or its teams to fire anyone.
Free speech only guarantees the Govt won't punish you. It doesn't protect you from being fired from your job if you reflect a poor image on your company nor does it protect you from criticism
