LSU does have depth issues on the line. Between injuries and players leaving, we are thin. That is a true statement and unfortunately, line play is exceptionally important in the SEC.
That's not an incorrect narrative, it's just a fact.

Yes. LSU currently has depth problems on the DL and OL. Why do we have depth problems? Is it because we didn't have players on those positions? If so, why don't we have players in those position.
The entire reason to hire O was for continuity and not rebuilding. He decides to run off half our OL and DL for whatever reason and then when shite hits the fan and we lose badly because of it, his supporters try to excuse his failures by blaming Miles and others.
Ed is entirely responsible for where this team is right now. Stop trying to excuse a horrible hire. I know many want O to succeed. Hell I want it to happen too because it means LSU is doing well. That said, I am pretty certain it won't happen because the guy is simply a horrible manager and leader outside of being a rah rah guy.
Pete Jenkins for example WAS a great DL coach on every level. He's clearly not anymore and should've been replaced this offseason. Now we are reaping the negatives of keeping him on as well.

We can have lack of depth and coach O still being a bad hire at the same time you know.

LSU’s 2 deep on both lines are vastly more talented than MSUs. We can stop using that excuse for why we lost by 30.
We didn't even have a two deep on DLine. We had 4 playing 3 by the end of the game Saturday.

I'm not excusing his hire; I didn't support his hire. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to call out the mouthbreathers on here who don't have a clue about what they are talking.

This narrative was started on Tuesday by our local media to cover for their boy O. They did it to save face from the comments Marcus Spears made about how this program is in the hole. They didn't want it to fall squarely on Os shoulder. Basically they are pushing the blame off of O and onto the previous regime. They even went far enough as to blame Chavis for the "lack of defensive depth".
In all likelyhood this was started by Panampski (sp.) given to Culotta and run from there. This is absolutely false and we as LSU fans should not give into it.

Lack of depth doesn't make LSU lose to Mississippi state by 30. How are we allowing that to be our excuse? Sure Alabama, Florida, Georgia we lose to them they have recruited well and have depth. But Mississippi state.. give me a break.
Does this team have 2011 depth and talent? NO. Did anyone expect to go undefeated? NO But does that mean we should ever lose to Mississippi state by 30?

Who said this is the entire explanation? Who said it’s the only one?
Better yet, do you think this is not a huge issue? Rotating 4 men on a 30 front in the 2nd half of a road game versus a Division opponent isn’t an issue? Ummmm...
Okay?

We also should not give into when people predict us going 10-2 every single year

Where are their lack of talent arguments?
You wont find many. The one thing state has is big core in the trenches. Those guys typically don't get ranked high with stars but the return on a big core is huge. LSU is loaded with skill players which pushes the talent rankings heavily in LSU's favor. The o-line vaccum is all on O. The new media narrative this weeks does a few things. First it builds O some fresh equity while trying to help save face. Secondly, it builds in a default excuse if this season continues to go South.

Exactly. While this may be an issue later on when our schedule gets gruesome this is only setting us up for failure and covering up larger issues.

It is an issue but it isn't what lost us the game against state. We lost the state in the first quarter with everyone fresh.

This is a ridiculous statement. Our lines were embarrassed MSU's lines. They were stronger, faster, and had better technique and more determination. Their guys outplayed our guys pure and simple. Now our guys can nut up or roll over.

When will you mouth breathers realize that
1) stars don't mean shite once you actually get to college.
2) having a bunch of 4 and 5 star skill players doesn't help us on the line.

If you don't question that decision then you can't complain about the depth.
I don't think that there were available d-lineman left behind.
And I'm not an O apologist. I just think it's intellectually dishonest to say we don't have depth issues.

Don't waste your time Freak.
These idiots won't listen to reason. Anyone watching the game could see that MSU was vastly more talented than LSU in the trenches. These dummy's can't take off their purple and gold glasses and look past star rankings.
