Tiger Stadium was Tiger Stadium long before Neck. It was legendary long before the students needed some vulgar chant to make their mark. The student body now needs WiFi, they leave at halftime, they complain about the televisions at the concessions stands. They're just weak. The student section was once the soul of the stadium. Now...they're just an embarrassment.

My friends and I don't leave the game until the band finished playing break bread, no matter the score. However, can you blame kids who aren't as obsessed with LSU football as you and I for leaving fricking chattanooga early? Our only decent non conference games are never in Baton Rouge anymore so our home schedule is usually garbage outside of maybe 2 conference games. Even years that's Bama plus we're lucky if Ole Miss/Miss state/East opponent is a good game. Odd years we have Auburn/Florida (except this year) and sometimes Arkansas/A&M are good matchups. Students don't leave if the game is close. I do agree with you though. I hate seeing an empty student section at the end of a game in what is known as one of the most hostile environments in the country.

The people who beg to bring it back are the same ones responsible for it being gone. 
I love neck, but I stopped worrying about it because people love saying STTDB more than they like the actual song and how hype it gets the stadium.

Yes, when I reflect on what is wrong at LSU and what we need to do rebuild and restore, "Neck" comes to mind first and is the prominent missing element.
