Maybe it's the smash mouth approach, maybe it's the BigCat drill but there was an amount of toughness that Miles' team showed and Orgeron coached team lacks.

Miles being a head coach while Orgeron is a defensive line coach may have something to do with it.

Not everyone has the chops to be in charge.

Other than towards then end, at least players played hard for Miles. There was no lack of intensity for most of the teams we had.

We're at week 3 of his first season here and we're worried that these guys aren't playing for their coach. I have no idea what the cure is for a lack of energy.

The number one thing Less Miles was, was that he was grossly incompetent. So I agree with you. Yea...we agree!

I've actually been thinking about that and maybe that does play into what this team is about. Also Miles has been criticized for the length of his practices and one of the first things O changed when he became interim HC was that and it has continued now that he is HC. I'm not saying Miles' practices were not unduly long but the team never looked as gassed as they were at the end of the Moo State game. So: (1) bring back the Big Cat drill; and (2) get these players in better shape (I guess running off all those penalties will help)

cant really argue against that... ill give the man credit for that.. even though i still cant stand him as a coach.. fantastic guy, but terrible football coach.

Miles was fine. He only got fired because he would not change his offense and the results suffered via wins and losses.

Miles followed Saban!
Orgeron followed Miles!

There is a big difference.

Please stop with all of this sky is falling chicken little bull shite. We got beat on Saturday and after what I saw, we could have played that game 10 times with the same personnel with either Miles, Saban or Orgeron coaching and lost 9 of them and probably lost by a spread of 17 points. MSU was on.

Consider this:

Defensively we had essentially untested secondary which periodically had as many as 4 freshmen playing(Delpit, Williams, Monroe and Vincent against a QB in Fitzgerald that has been marinating in Mullen's system for 3 years. Add to that you had some very undisciplined play from our LB's....Alexander for his late hit and Chaisson because he's a freshman and he's going to make mistakes. MSU's offensive front is experienced and big and they came to play. Losing people like Neal, Godchaux, Beckwith, Riley, Adams and White IS a big deal.

Offensively, we were going up against a very good unit especially in the LB's ( Sweat Lewis and Green are very good) as well as a DB unit that was full of 2 and 3 year starters against a receiver corps tat had DJ Chark as the only receiver wit any real experience.

I'm not saying they were 30 points better than LSU, but overall, the individual match ups favored MSU and coaching wise, Mullen can match wits with the best of coaches.

Move on. Worry about crushing Syracuse and Troy and stop wallowing in this loss

Its one freaking loss. He has coached 3 games as permanent head coach. How tough did the team look last year before Miles was fired and after. Id say they looked a lot tougher after. The knee jerk reactions are ridiculous.

For what its worth I was not a fan of the hire and thought LSU settled, but come on guys its his first loss. Give him a chance.
