Not making excuses for poor play, but can we all agree the officiating was a disgrace?

I mean this was the most poorly officiated game I have ever seen. You have the inexcusable phantom PI and the questionable hold take 14 off the board. Add to that TWO highly questionable targetting calls? Look I get the team is undisciplined and does a lot of dumb shite and the game is changing with targetting and whatnot, but last Saturday was a screw job there is no way around that. It's one thing to get ticky tack calls against you, but these were four HUGE, game-changing calls that were either close or just wrong.

It was a correct call.

The first was maybe questionable. The second was legit boneheaded by our guy.

We gotour as kicked. Plain and simple.

The holding call didn't take 7 off the board because we scored a few plays later.

You have to remember, LSU created those ticky-tack situations for refs to consider grabbing the flag.

The first targeting was not questionable. He lowered his head and hit the QB in the head with the crown of his helmet. That is textbook targeting.

The Farrel targeting was not targeting. Call it a late hit, fine, but it wasn't targeting. He hit him inadvertently in the facemask with his facemask.

Two years ago LSU went to MSU and had multiple TDs called back, along with several other big gains. If memory serves, it was well over 200 yards of offense that night that the SEC took away.

However, we still won the game.

Fact is, if you aren't good enough to overcome this BS against MSU, you may as well pack it up now because you won't beat Bama, UF, and AU. If one or two bad calls cause the staff and team to lose focus that bad, we are done. This is the SEC. You HAVE to expect shennanigans if you are a Tier 2 team.

As someone mentioned before, the problem with having the reputation as a penalty-prone team is that the refs come into the game looking to penalize you. It's a positive feedback loop.

The targeting calls were legit.

Don't forget the pass interference call that wasn't called on LSU (with about 3 minutes left in 2nd quarter).

Most of the time the officiating is a disgrace. This time was no exception.

Just as there is no excuse for the anemic play by LSU in this game, NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.... There is also no excuse for the horrific officiating as well. It was, regardless of how LSU played, pathetic.... That's in no means sour grapes. It's just the facts..... For such a powerhouse conference, we really do seem to endure some pretty sub par officiating on the reg.

Was there any product on the field, without a Bulldog, that was positive. Coaching, tackling, blocking, passing, catching on the LSU side was all substandard for winning games.

Our player was grasping the other players jersey and pulling it. It's the literal definition of holding.

One play I noticed was an obvious block in the back on a long punt return for MSU that wasn't called. Happened right in front of the return man at midfield, but it is what it is. Still, LSU would have needed to play a lot better than it did for officiating to play a role in the outcome of the game. If officiating had gone the way LSU would have liked it, the final score might have been 30-14.

The calls by officials were not nearly as bad as the calls by LSU DC and OC There is abad stinch hovering over Baton Rouge.

Standard SEC officiating. Total incompetence.

The official who threw the flag on the phantom PI was 20 yards down the field reacting to the aftermath of the play and the openness of Chark. Exactly what you're not suppose to do as an official.
