Alcohol poising is much harder with beer.

It was rare when the drinking age was 18.

Let's save lives and let 18 year olds have beer again.

Meh... I like my 18 year olds smelling like alcohol... beer may get them too fat, although I am a fan of 'thick'

Being draft-eligible at 18 but not allowed to drink a beer is pretty shitty.

Making such things taboo does nothing but cause abuse. If we normalize it, I think we'll see the binging decrease.

I think the dui fatal accidents would rise sharply and be negative. I'm all for lowering, but how do you overcome or prevent that?

You are charged as an adult for a crime, can get the death penalty and are old enough to consent to sex, drive a car and serve on a jury. This is what happens when states become slaves to federal government. Gotta have those highway funds.

I think normalizing it and focusing on responsibility would take care of it. I'm sure there would be an increase in the beginning but would tail off within a few years.

That's the reason that the drinking age was increased in the first place. Supposedly the data support that conclusion. From just a reasoning and logically consistent perspective it makes sense that 18 year olds should be allowed to drink. It seems like the government has made illegal something that is seen as a social norm. 18-21 year olds are expected to drink pretty much by everyone, and yet it is illegal. It just doesn't make much sense from that perspective. But the DUI stats are kind of a hard thing to get around. Maybe when everyone has self driving cars it will become irrelevant.

Yeah, all you're really doing is criminalizing a behavior they're already engaging in.

Let's take a look at all the advanced countries that share our drinking age:

Côte d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Iraq, Kiribati, Micronesia, Mongolia, Nauru, Oman, Palau, Samoa, Sri Lanka, United States

If we were lumped in with these countries on other major issues, we'd be embarrassed.

With how fricked up I've been before I don't get how you get to the level of alcohol poison. But yeah beer is the way to go

Absolute cave in by the states to the feds. The civil war was fought over states rights not slavery alone. If the drinking age was still 18, there would not be as much Bing drinking. We are doomed to liberal morons trying to recreate history unless people stand up and call them on their bullsheet.
