Those same SJWs would probably cover their ears and go LALALALA if the discussion turned to the history of hazing and other activities associated with the historically black fraternities and sororities like Omega Phi Psi or Kappa Alpha Psi.

Serious question here... I know jack shite about fraternities.

What is it about fraternities that requires the university anyway? I mean, fraternities are basically clubs, why do the clubs need the endorsement of the university?

To have houses on campus, social activities on campus, have their names associated with the school, etc.

Wouldn't there be a campuswide email announcing this? Or at least emails sent to Greeks? Surely if all activities are canceled this must be out there. Otherwise this may be an unsubstantiated rumor .

EDT: nevermind. I saw that the university president announced it.

Few reasons:
1) The houses are usually on campus property owed by the school
2) Nationals of each fraternity are very touchy with their branches
3) If the university sees any reason they dont want the fraternities there, they can use the rules to enforce it since they own the land
4) The groups are associated with the campus
5) A number of complicated mixings of above.

It was announced live by the LSU president. Doesn't get much more official than that.

This shouldn't shock you. Social justice warriors have targeted Greek institutions for years, claiming they are bastions of White supremacy.

Any event like this will be exploited to the fullest extent in order to maximize the damage to these institutions. They will not relent until all forms of European traditionalism is destroyed and replaced with more palatable forms of primitive, non-White culture.

Congrats, that's the dumbest thing I've read today

LSU's houses aren't owned by the school, correct? They just own the land or something?

While I have had an interest in the Greek life, I do think it is important and in the best interest of any school to have it.

They just needs to be a campaign of some type to eliminate certain types of behavior.
