Heard you guys knew how to party?

Hey there, Tiger fans!
The girl and I are making the trip from Alaska for the SU-LSU game. Meeting up with a larger group in NOLA for a few days, then heading to Baton Rouge on Friday afternoon.
Where do opposing fans usually gather the night before a game? Looking for a place to hold 20-50 Cuse fans. I've emailed "walk on's" and "The Chimes" so far.
Most of my group is either staying at the BR Marriott, or some Casino close to the Marriott. Looking at a map, it seems like a straight shot from the Casino hotel, to the stadium. Walkable? If so, how much of that walk is through tailgates?
If not walkable, is there someplace we should uber to, and start our day from there?
Any "Must see's" or "Must do's" for gameday?
My group met some LSU fans at the dome when you guys came up, we've been invited to their tailgate. We plan to check that out before heading to a Cuse tailgate. (At the moment I have no locations on either lol)
I had a long list of questions for the board when I requested to join the site last week. Now it's 9am on a Monday, and I can't remember most of them. I'll add more if I think of them.
Heard nothing but great things about your fan base when you came to the dome, and hopefully you hear the same after we pack up and leave town.
Hoping to leave with a W, but guarantee I leave with a buzz!
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Why don't we know how to anymore?

Make reservations at August (a John Besh restaurant) in NOLA for Friday afternoon for their prix fixe menu. $25/3 courses.
You'll get responses from others on here re: BR (Chimes, etc.).

W isn't happening, good luck getting to walk ons, and that is one hell of a walk, I wouldn't suggest it. But hope you enjoy the tail gate/ food and booze. GT

Let's keep it real. I seriously doubt the Orangemen will leave Baton Rouge with a W so it it's best you get that thought out of your head. Enjoy your stay!

You would be walking through 2-3 miles of extreme ghetto. Just uber from the hotel.

Do not walk from the casino to the stadium. Think they still have a shuttle from near the casino to campus.

do not make that walk
unless you have any shirts that say McKinley High on them
uber will take you close to the action, then just walk around

I'm assuming the downtown casino??? If so, not walk-able....there are some sketchy areas in between downtown and the campus.
All the tailgates are pretty much on campus, so uber to the edge of campus and then walk wherever!!

Stay away from the parade grounds and avoid people with purple casts.

Definitely catch a ride from your hotel. I suggest meeting up at Chimes and walking around from there.
The wait at Chimes to eat will likely be very long if you are looking to do that. But Chimes is a good place to start because of its proximity to the parade grounds. I suggest walking around the parade grounds and then towards the Indian Mounds, then down Victory Hill to see the festivities and Mike's cage close to the stadium. You'll have plenty of people taking care of you along the way if you're willing to walk up to them and talk some football.

I hope you know how to drink heavily because you're going to need every drop to endure the beatdown you're going to witness.

Walk-Ons and The Chimes are campus staples, but unless you rent event/banquet space they won't accept reservations. Other good food stops: Parrain's (close to the Marriott), Roux 61, K-Street Cafe, Overpass Merchant, Phil's Oyster Bar.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT walk to campus from downtown. Not only is it farther than you think, but also not safe.

Tailgating happens all across campus. There's no one designated spot. I usually recommend to stay away from the Parade Ground due to the fact it's loaded with drunk frats that will probably try to pick fights. I would suggest having an Uber drop you off either at Parker Coliseum (where my crew tailgates) or somewhere on the west side of the stadium. Best bet is to just walk around, soak up the sights and sounds and smells and alcohol. You're group will be heckled, but then you'll usually be welcomed in for food, drink, and a good time. The area around the Indian Mounds is pretty interesting on game days as well.

This one is easy. The hottest commodity will be to check out Mike VII and his habitat across from Death Valley. Then around 4pm (depending on what time the game will be set for) check out the Tiger Walk down Victory Hill, followed by The Golden Band from Tigerland's march down and playing of the Pregame Salute.
Best thing you and your group can do is make yourselves at home. Stop in, ask questions and have a great time.
