Canada's offense will be based on his opponent

Canada's selection of plays are going to be based on his opponent, that's what I got from the BYU game. In fact, I originally was worried he might abandon the run too much. LSU fans will eventually see a display of LSU's passing abilities but it will be dictated by LSU's next opponent, who may not dictate such a display.

I think game situations and how they are playing out dictate play calling more than opponents.

Canada has clearly stated that his goal is to create mismatches, "get our best player on their worst player".
We'll see, but that will be interesting with some of the defenses coming down the stretch, where their "worst player" is a former 5* All-American.

Yes, that and based on LSU''s opponents abilities, that's what I got from the BYU game, they couldn't stop LSU's running game so he relied on it more. The 3rd game, the one against Miss St will tell us a lot about LSU's passing abilities not this next one.

I read somewhere he only used 10% of the game plan he had for BYU...So im sure he used maybe half a page of plays...it wouldnt surprise me if he only used about 10 plays total just mixed them up.

You'd think this would be standard practice but........nope. LOL

he has gone run heavy and pass heavy dependant upon the opponent.

Or, in other words, "attack their strengths."

I'm going to venture a guess, a guess only mind you, that it means the opposite of what you just said.

Strategy seems to work for others. Patriots employ this strategy even though their opponents worst player would make the former 5* All-American look silly in many instances.
Time will tell.

I think he's making fun of Miles' quote from Saturday.

This. Love Miles but that was such a terrible quote

And I highly doubt Chattanooga will present problems to our rushing game, hence, we will see a very similar game to the BYU game (with more rushing YDS in my opinion).
I am just fine with this. Rush the ball all we need to and use the pass plays and cute stuff for when we need it.

That's when execution and intensity prevail.

I disagree BYU at least posed a mild threat to us if we came out and got cute. Chatanooga does not pose a threat to us what so ever and therefore i think well see more passing this game even though they wont be able to stop the run.

Agreeing with you and original post. His plan is part LSU ability, part opponents disability, and taking what's offered!
BYU coaches had excellent vanilla game plan. If they had tried to get cute, our speed would have gashed them for more yards/play, more plays, and more points.
Canada was content to hold the ball for 75% of game and win by 27 points!

No, he's quoting a recent Les Miles statement on TV. Les said the best strategy is to attack their strengths because you have to make them bend.

Can we call him the Wizard now. I know he can't compete with Cam Cameron for ridiculous hype, but maybe he can take the number two spot from Crowton.
