My wife has to be at the hospital and I don't want to leave her. I would rather have left if I could.

Woah! 40 mile shift west in 48 hours. Almost staying completely over the gulf all the way up.

Yeah, the Euro is basically putting Irma skirting along the coast from Naples to Ocala:

My dad just texted that he put me and my SO on the Sheriff's list to contact after the storm. Really, Dad? Thanks but that's not making me feel better. Oh, and he said to "keep ID on you". We aren't gonna die here, house may be damaged. This isn't Haiti. Ugh, I don't need smore stress.

Do you like your father? Because if you don't, this is your opportunity to frick with him right back.

Tell him you've already accepted the fact that your death is imminent. Send him a pic of your arm with your name and SS# written in Sharpie on it. Tell him ID in the pocket won't work because you fully expect the 200 mph winds to rip all the clothes off of your lifeless body. Then add that "Sharpie on the arm" probably won't work either because you expect your remains will be consumed by the sudden alligator and python population increase that will surely arrive on a "wall of water" from the Everglades. And sharks. Don't forget to work sharks into the equation.

On the other hand, maybe you shouldn't send him that message. He probably means well and is just concerned for you safety. I hope you have plenty vodka in stock. You're going to need it. Take care.

Pro tip: If you have a pool, extra chlorine now will keep it from turning green a few days longer when the power is out. You might be bathing in it within a few days.

It's called common sense.

First it was gonna crush South Carolina. Then the SC/GA border. Then Atlanta was in the middle.

Now we are talking Destin.

Common sense dictates Mobile as the landfall.

It's not nonsense or drive by. It's not gut feeling. It is my projection based on the total shift left the past 36 hours.

She's in great health. She's just worried about the two really tall palm trees over her house and possible flooding. I guess the Myakka River flooded last week and all the ponds and lakes on the golf course are already starting to spill out of their banks.

The average age in Venice is prolly a 100 or so. I imagine the shelters will be stressful.

This isn't Haiti? Neither was Western Mississippi when Katrina hit, and that entire region was decimated.

Stay safe. I wish you only the best.

You and the math triangles guy should really read up on how weather works. The movement is based on fluid patterns, so you cant just guarantee that it is going to continue to do what it has been doing
