Seek to impeach after gaining control in 2019.

Efforts to find a way to remove Trump from office began almost immediately after he took office, then it moved from left-wing social media to mainstream telecasts and publications and the halls of Congress after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey on May 9.
quote:
Four days later, the prominent Democratic constitutional scholar, Laurence Tribe, argued in The Washington Post that the Comey firing constituted obstruction of justice — an even worse “high crime and misdemeanor,” he argued, than the ones that drove Richard Nixon from office in 1974 because it “involved national security matters vastly more serious than the ‘third-rate’ burglary that Nixon tried to cover up in Watergate.”
quote:
Clearly, Trump is unpopular, historically so for a recently-elected president and shedding “strongly support” backing even among Republican voters. It’s also clear that many Republican legislators would be much happier with President Mike Pence instead of President Trump. Even among GOP voters, Pence’s numbers are higher than Trump’s. And public attitudes toward impeachment as a weapon of political combat show no signs of abating.

I hope they run on that platform

If the democrats make the midterms about impeachment, they will get their asses handed to them.
Before the 2006 midterms, Nancy Pelosi said that impeachment of President Bush is off the table and will never be considered. They retook Congress thereafter.
I doubt Pelosi can control the crazy from their bases this time though and keep impeachment away from the platform that they're running on.

Oh and this....
Counts for diddly shite and even more so when they are not honoring the promises they made to their voters to get elected. They don't have a leg to stand on to bash Trump for anything and are doing more to help democrats win 2018 than anything Trump is doing.

I assume they have a war room somewhere. Too many people are repeating the same talking points.

Conference calls and email blasts to all DNC pundits who appear on "the shows"

This, IMO, is worth going to war over (if they succeed I mean). It is an attempt at a government takeover by a hostile enemy, while trying to remove the votes of this past election.

Read that statement to yourself again and again until you realize the contradiction here.

They were organizing an impeachment before the inauguration.

I remember the olden days when trying to overthrow the government would have been called "treason".

It might be Republicans scared of their re-election chances who make the decision to fire Trump next year.

and they would end the fricking party forever

According to the left, Trump will never give up his power and use force if necessary to set himself up as the supreme leader of the Fourth Reichstag. The Secret Service will become his Gestapo, the US Military will embrace the ideals of Fascism and eradicate the minority population. Heil!

Either party is committing suicide trying to remove Trump.
Goes to show you how far out of touch the people in DC really are though.

Yep it's clear the 2018 strategy for them will be give us the votes we need for impeachment. This will come crashing down on them

8 months in, if this board still thinks that Trump is the Republican party's best chance to accomplish its goals, then you're cutting off your nose to spite your face. So so dumb.

Wrong. This board does not want the Republican Party to accomplish its goals since it has become obvious its goals are bigger government and more power for GOPe's and RINOs in congress and elsewhere in government. The reason Trump was elected is that he had a different set of goals which line up with what the people of the country want to happen. He is not the best chance to reach those goals, he is the only chance.

It's not surprising that Democrats think illegally spying on political opponents is not a big deal.
