I noticed when I went to Omaha, Nebraska for the 2017 CWS that a lot of Nebraska people like LSU and actually rooted for us to win the whole thing !

Mostly true but there's more SEC fans out here than you realize. This FB group meets up pretty often and they're fun. LV SEC fans

Oh...most of the media out west HATE the SEC.

I have a family member like this. MS boy, huge Gump.

I think Mississippians are so tired of being #50 on every list that they feel the urge to root for a #1, even if its the evil empire with no ties to MS and their home state school is the only one to beat them consistently. Like, WTF!?

Born and raised in Louisiana, LSU grad, but I've lived in Houston for the last 35 years. Lots of A&M and UT fans here as should be expected. However, there are tons of LSU fans here. I'd say LSU is probably third most popular college team in Houston behind A&M and UT. I believe that for the most part, the A&M and UT fans respect the LSU football program (and baseball program). I get lots of "Geaux Tigers" when I wear my LSU gear here in Houston.

Born & raised in SW MS.

LSU grad in '85.

Lived in NoTex west of FTW for 30+ years.

Melting pot of B12 & SEC fans, some B10 & P12 fans mixed in.

Lots of Tigah fans in the Metroplex, lots of Hog fans, & starting to see a disappointing number of Bammer stickers on cars.

All quiet the last few years from TCU & aTm fans after the beatings their teams have taken.

Upcoming series with TU will be unbearable if the Orangeheads win. Most entitled fan base west of the river.

I live in Bella Vista, AR. There are 10-12 couples in our church from Louisiana. Many programs are represented (Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Florida, Iowa, Arkansas, Ohio, Mississippi, Texas, and several other states. LSU fans more than hold their own. Football season is fun!

Grew up in Lafayette. Undergrad from USL, MBA from LSU. Lived in New Orleans for four years after graduation. I was transferred to Houston 10 years ago. Lots of LSU fans here, but I am the only engineer in my division that didn't graduate from Texas A & M. They have lots of things to say before the game, and avoid me after. Lol

Moved to Los Angeles a few years ago. Surprisingly, it seems like everytime I wear an LSU shirt I can a "geaux tigers" or a random person talking about how much they like coach O when he was at USC.

Salt Lake City, Utah. Surprisingly good crowd of Tigers out here, especially after Katrina.

University of Utah fans have drunk the PAC12 kool-aid into thinking their conference is superior to the SEC (interesting that they always do this particular comparison to the SEC, not other conferences), so they think they are better than LSU. After having laid wood on Alabama a few Sugar Bowls back, maybe they are correct. LOL.

BYU fans didn't know anything about LSU until they get scheduled, and now seem to have educated themselves quickly, and have great respect for the talent level of LSU. They think they can win this game with a few breaks, at the same time believing that the Cougars will probably lose.

Neither school knows how to tailgate (although the Utes mostly believe they do, in their typically delusional way.)

I know your pain all too well growing up in Arkansas. Hog fans won't ever be quiet. They're destined for 12-0 every year in their minds. There's a lot of hatred and jealousy that they carry towards LSU. I use to have respect and let them be my second favorite team. But they ruined that for me by talking way too much smack for a team that's never even won the damn West.

I've lived in Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas (and Illinois but it's the oddball of the bunch geographically)

I'll always be an LSU fan no matter where my life takes me.

Right now I'm in Austin with Longhorn fans and they're actually a pretty respectable fan base. They give us a lot of credit when we haven't done something that directly interferes with their interests (like the Louisiana satellite camps drama) I have a lot of respect for their program too. I can go outside wearing an LSU shirt and have people go "oh hey I like LSU I had family go there"

The most hostile place I lived was Oklahoma. They have a real chip on their shoulder about us because of the 2003 National Title game and Les trading up from Oklahoma State only to win a national title in 2011. People would see my LSU shirt and go "yeah well Oklahoma won eight national titles your three are just piddly" as if having three titles makes for some mediocre program.

Arkansas was bad too but it's more of a standard smack talk kind of place than really hostile. I'd get comments like "oh hey nice LSU car mats they're a great place to put my feet on" and then I'd just chirp back at them

Nothing feels better than being out of state and coming back home to an LSU game though. It's phenomenal

Grew up in BR area (Central) but have lived in Mobile and endured Bama fans for several decades. Most of my friends are either Bama or Auburn grads/fans, so best years were when we were beating both, along with UF. Not often, but nice when it happens.

My Bama friends are generally alumni, so not quite so bad as those who have not ever seen Tuscaloosa.

Been in Richmond VA a long time. Mostly Va Tech and UVA fans around here for football, but also lots of VCU Ram basketball fans.

I rarely ever get ragged on, especially after LSU kicked the living shite of out Tech 48-7. They are still in awe of us. UVA fans are milktoast and don't have a lot of passion.

VCU fans are still bitter about us stealing Wade. A guy on my team is a huge fan, season ticket holder. So I always keep him up to date with all of Wade's successes on the recruiting trail. He hates me.

I work with people from all over (lot's of ACC fans, Big 10, Big East, etc.) I carry my LSU coffee cup with pride. Anybody who knows anything about college sports is respectful. They also like the idea of Louisiana's culture.

As for Bama fans ever giving me crap, I just tell them about my mom's family in Andalusia, Al...bunch of losers, either in jail or on govt assistance. Oh and they are Bama fans. Funny thing is, I'm not making it up.
